Reviews
"We had a lovely stay in Movich Cottage during some wild weather in Fort William. The cottage was cool in the day but really caught the heat in the evening, which wasn't great for sleeping but you would have had that anywhere in the country. It's a nice short walk away from Fort William town centre (5 min drive) but there isn't a great deal to see in Fort William so you really are best taking your car so you can venture to Ben Nevis or beyond. Our only small gripes with the cottage were that the bathroom smelt of cigarettes, an odour that never went despite our best efforts, and the guests from the local B&B occasionally tried to take the parking. Other than that it we couldn't fault it. "
"The cottage located in a stunning area on Loch Linnhie more than lived up to our expectations - clean, comfortable and cosy. Close enough to walk into Fort William and great base for exploring the surrounding areas. The cottage had all that you could wish for on holiday and was a delight to return to after a long day exploring. Plenty of space to move around and keep all your belongings - and absolutely great views out over the loch - you certainly don't need a TV to keep you occupied - just look out of the windows !! Would recommend the following : Crannog and Munro restaurants, Inverlochy, Urguhart and Dunstaffnage castles, as well as Glennfinnan Monument (and viaduct), Neptunes Staircase, Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus and Loch Ness as well as Oban, the road to Strontian - amazing views - and brooding Glencoe. So much to see and do - we have vowed to return to Morvich Cottage and Fort William"
"Following a five day stay in East Kilbride near Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games, my wife and I plus another couple booked Morvich Cottage for the following week. Without doubt, it was as described with easy access to the main town of Fort William either by foot or car. The cottage was well appointed, very clean and the views from the lounge sofa were simply stunning. We were unable to find any major fault and it was perfect for the four of us. The location was excellent. We had the main bedroom with en-suite and I enjoyed a substantial daily shower. The bed was also very comfortable. The cottage was located close to a number of walks. As a professional photographer, it was a pleasure to be able to take a camera and tripod either early morning or late into the evening across the road and onto the beach to capture some stunning views. I've included a few of these and also a couple of pictures taken from the lounge window. To sum up, this is an ideal cottage from which to tour the Highlands, centrally located and well appointed. Just one further quick note - we found the owner most helpful and informative."
"Very, very comfortable cottage and very well equipped. The views are great and the landscape changes daily. Spacious enough for us four adults. It was amusing to see the lady swimming past in the loch most mornings (very brave for March). Good location for the highlands and only about a 15 minute walk into Fort William with its quite vast array of places to eat. Would love to return to this cottage and visit the highlands once again. Very reasonably priced too."
"The cottage was very nice, comfortable and we felt at home straight away. The views were wonderful from the living room. we have been to Fort William a number of times and thought the cottage was the best we have stayed at. It is not the most modern accomodation that we have rented but by far the best. We would definitely stay there again."
"Plenty of space in the cottage for all 4 of us. The view from the front windows was amazing. We could lay in the double bed & look at the waterfalls coming down the mountain at the other side of the lock. We sat & played games in the sitting room, looking out at the loch & even saw a seal. The house had everything we needed, the kitchen was really well equipped too. An easy walk into the town with lots of choices of places to eat. Fort William is great as a base point to travel to Skye, Fort augustus, Glencoe, and the beautiful beaches on the road towards Mallaig."

"thius cottage is all it says it is...wonderful views from the windows (when the clouds are not down), comfy accommodation all round , well equipped kitchen and even a place to sit outside (not very often possible with scottish weather). Great base for walking as we managed to leave the car behind on most days. Will want to visit again and again."

"We booked through Sykes and overall enjoyed our holiday but there were some quirks (self cater a lot) that meant haven't rated it excellent - arrival time when booked was stated as 3pm but on contacting to arrange key collection was told property only available from 3.30pm - drive/parking tricky and although could park two cars would require cars to be parked in particular order. - freezer in shed - cold on arrival as heating off bar one night storage heater. It took a day to warm up as uses night storage mainly - had to turn on water heating and fridge on arrival and asked to do this on departure too. Finally more could be made of outdoor space I.e. chairs, outdoor drying facilities etc. Overall would recommend especially as now quirks won't be a surprise."
"We wanted to spend a week exploring the Highlands & chose Morvich Cottage for its location as well as the facilities/scenery...Wow we were not disappointed! The cottage itself was beautiful & felt like home the minute we arrived, there was nothing more we could have required for our stay. The views are exactly as advertised...STUNNING! Fort William itself was just a short walk away, with Ben Nevis, Glencoe & other towns within easy commute. You wont be disappointed if you stay here!"
"We had a great week at Morvich Cottage. Despite wet weather, we were very cosy and comfortable. not an old, quaint cottage, but we still enjoyed it and the sitting room views over the Loch really are amazing - and settee is at right height to sit and enjoy it. the carpets felt new, really nice and thick underfoot (weirdly this is one of the first things we noticed!). it was nice and light (big windows). it had every mod con we needed including games/books/other thoughtful touches. there was plenty of space, eg with 2 bathrooms, so we all had the space we needed. there is a fairly main road right outside,ie below the paved patio, which i'd been concerned about, but actually it wasn't an issue. it was very quiet at night, and we were out most days. we didn't think much of Fort William itself, not a pretty place really, just a stunning setting by the loch and as the publicity goes, it was a convenient centre from which to explore the area: ie ben nevis area (recommend trip up by cable car!), and the Harry Potter Jacobean steam railway (which goes over the viaduct where the dementor attack took place!), Glencoe, Skye, etc. stunning area. we really appreciated the homely touches and the care by the owners in this cottage. it was about 20 min walk into the town. maybe they could make the outside patio more attractive, and move the bench onto the main paved area. we only found the bench round the left corner at the end of the week - but this isn't an issue. and how often is the weather good enough to sit outside very much anyway!? a lovely place to stay. I would recommend it."
"We were delighted to find on our arrival firstly that the views are exactly as portrayed without standing on a chair to see. Really comfortable and has everything you need for an enjoyable and relaxing stay. It was only a 20 min. walk into Fort William and to get a boat trip on the loch. Would reccommend highly"
