The attractive market town of Bewdley, once described as "the most perfect Georgian town in Worcestershire", sits on the banks of the River Severn, and is close to the medieval Wyre Forest, with its many walks and cycle trails. Bewdley offers much to delight visitors, with a good choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants along the riverside, many tiny shops, antique and craft galleries, and all surrounded by beautiful countryside with gentle rolling hills, steep wooded valleys and meandering rivers offering many opportunities to discover a rich diversity of wildlife. The area has some of the best attractions in the country, with the Severn Valley Steam Railway, West Midlands Safari Park, numerous National Trust properties and many colourful events throughout the year, including riverside festivals and regattas, open air concerts and family activities. Something for everyone!
Reviews
"I cannot express in words how much of a good holiday we had at Theolaw. Starting with the cottage, it was spotlessly clean and so comfortable, we wanted for nothing as there was everything there that we needed including a box of chocolates and a bottle of bubbly for our arrival. The hot tub was beautiful and relaxing and the grandsons really loved it. The cottage is situated in a large field which houses many other cottages too. The river is just across the way but far enough away to be safe. There are also cows living in the field which made my holiday even better being an animal lover. We took our dog with us, which was no problem at all as the owners of the cottage love animals and it also seems that everywhere you go in Bewdley everyone is an animal lover as so many people made such a fuss of Buster. We had a different take away delivered each night as we truly needed a break from the norm, the food delivered was of very good standard. We went on the steam train to Bridgnorth, this was a great experience as you meander through delightful countryside. Bridgnorth itself was well worth the visit and highly recommended. Again, Buster was welcomed on the train and all of the guards made a fuss of him. You don't have to go into Bewdley train station to catch the train as it stops just the other side of the lane from the field, you just need to flag it down and upon returning tell the guard that you want to get off at Northwood Halt. I can't finish without saying that the lady who owns the cottage made us feel at home and welcomed us so warmly. I cannot fault her hospitality at all and was sad to say good bye to her, I will definitely return here again as I returned home feeling so relaxed."
"This cottage is perfect, beautifully decorated exceptionally clean and with everything you may need for a fabulous stay in peaceful location but with plenty to do near by we had a wonderful week . will definitely be staying again thanks to the wonderful owners."
