"Great rural location within easy reach of Ludlow, Bridgenorth and Shrewsbury. Turnip House sits within a working family farm and appealed to all ages, our party of 10 adults, 1 child and 2 babies ranged in age from 3 months to 60years. We took our two dogs and they were made very welcome too. The property was spacious, cosy and very well equipped. We made good use of the go-carts and tennis court, the games room was great for late night competitions. We stayed at Turnip House during lambing time on the farm, it was wonderful to witness the birth of new lambs and my husband helped to deliver two with owner Sara, a memory to treasure. We pre- booked a food delivery prior to our arrival and this helped us enormously with a large crowd of 10 plus. We also booked Spinney Retreat as an overflow for our party and this worked brilliantly as the properties were just 5 mins walk apart. A really great property that I'd highly recommend."

"I have just spent an amazing week here with my family. My 2 and 4 year old grandsons were kept busy and adored every minute. The owner Sarah has really thought the cottages through for all members of the family. Fresh flowers were on the tables when we arrived, there was a toy chest in the lounge for the children, with a new tractor and trailer which went down very well with the boys. The go carts and tractors were also a big hit in the tennis area, as were the tennis courts. The games room was also utilised well especially the table tennis and pool tables. For me it was the ample space available, sometimes photographs can be deceptive but not here there was more than enough space for all of us to be comfortable. One of the best things was the amount of crockery available especially mugs, It meant that we didn't have to put the dishwasher on every five minutes or be washing up! There is also a fridge freezer as well as a larder fridge which were able to accommodate the food from the internet shop. It was lambing season when we were there and in the afternoon when most of the farm duties were finished we were able to go into the barn. This was special for the boys who got to see a lamb being born and were able to feed the lambs that needed to be bottle fed. They got to feed the pigs and hens everyday, and collect eggs when available. We did cheat though and had eggs in our pockets just in case they had already been collected . There are lovely walks around the farm and maps are provided in the information pack. There is a pool and gym that can be hired private at an additional cost. The pool area was like a private spa and was a lovely end to our holiday. The wifi in the cottage was excellent which is good as between us we had several phone networks and not all of them worked. I was able to use wifi calling when I didn't have reception. I would definitely stay here again"

"We were a party of 10 guys staying here - and in the connected Corn House - for a walking weekend. The properties are of a very high standard, very comfortable and in a great location. The owners of the farm are lovely and their two recommendations were great: 1. The local pub in Cardington, which does great food and beer 2. The caterers who they helped me to arrange to come in to cook a 3 course meal on Saturdya night after a long day of walking were superb. We had a delcicious meal and then all fell asleep in front of a lovely hot wood burning stove in one of the sitting rooms. To Howard and Sarah, the farm owners, thank so much from all of us! Ian"

"We have just got back from a lovely relaxing stay at Turnip House. The cottage is very spacious with large living room & wood-burning stove, kitchen/ dining area, two double bedrooms (1 en-suite four-poster) and two twin rooms, utility area, two fridges, separate bathroom with roll-top bath. We had two patio areas with table and chairs and a BBQ. The cottage is one of 3/4 on a working farm, with lovely views over the surrounding hills. One of the highlights for me was being surrounded by the lovely animals, especially the horses and chickens. We fed the pigs and horses daily and collected fresh eggs from the chickens. It was surprisingly very peaceful. There is also two games rooms with pool table, table tennis, darts, table football etc. They are also building a large indoor badminton/ tennis courts at the moment (though we were not in the slightest disturbed by the noise). There is a 2 mile circular walk within the farm grounds, which was very pleasant. Mobile phone reception is not great in this area, but there is a pay phone within the cottage if needed. As we were staying for a family birthday, we booked a function room at the Royal Oak pub in Cardington for a meal one evening (25 people), which is a 2 mile walk from the cottage. The meal and service were both very good and we were allowed to decorate the room and bring our own cake for desert. Overall I cannot recommend the cottage highly enough and would love to come back for another visit, the only slight negative is that there were a few cobwebs in the property that perhaps are difficult for the cleaners to reach because of the high ceilings. We also found that some noise came through the walls from next door into the first floor double bedroom."
