Reviews
"I stayed in January and had a lovely time; the cottage is a great size with lots of character. Great shower, really sweetly decorated bedrooms and lots of nice books to choose from when curling up next to the fire. The location is great - really near Holy Island and Bamburgh, and also the fantastic pub, The Black Bull. Would highly recommend and would love to go back in the warmer weather."
"Really lovely cottage ,very spacious and well equipped, secure garden and private with high fences, had two separate living rooms which allowed us all to spread out ,we are family of five, all boys .very quiet village ,short drive to coast and other attractions.exceeded our expectations ,very good value for money especially in children's school hols.We will be back"
"Beautiful quiet village to stay in only 10 minutes drive from Berwick upon Tweed and Holy Island. The cottage has a quirky layout and is extremely well equipped. The neighbours either side are welcoming as is everyone you bump into around the village. The cottage is pet friendly too. We would love to return in the future."
"This is the best way to get away from it all, lovely quiet village and starry Northumbrian night skies. The cottage is comfortable and cosy but still plenty of space for a group or family. The dining room catches the morning sun and it seems a shame to rush breakfast. It is a property obviously cared for with attention to detail and well equipped for a holiday home."
"We found the cottage cozy, warm & clean. In no way luxurious, but lived in, loved and 'comfy', just right for that part of the world. A quriky set up roomwise which added character to the place. The only possible down side would be the one and only tiny toilet which could cause a big problem if someone where rather plump. I am not obese, but about 3 stone overwieght, but if I had been much bigger it would have been impossible to go to the loo! That aside ,we had a lovely time."
"Layout of the cottage is not ideal but did not spoil the holiday in a part of the country that we love. Only 1 problem arose on the last day due to very heavy rain, coupled with a north wind, leaking through the poorly fitting front door. An air vent in the front door (required by the gas board) let in a significant amount of water and both resulted in the small hallway becoming flooded. I presume this will have been rectified by the owners who seemed to really care about the property."
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Lowick cottage, the cottage itself felt more like a home and was furnished well so we felt comforatble from day one would certantly visit Northunbria again. Plenty of interesting places to visit would recommend Holy Island, Alnwick Casle and as avid walkers the Cheviots close by. Only one downside to our stay the local pub in Lowick has been closed for some tiome so you need to amend your information regarding local amenities but apart from that do plan to return in the future."
