Reviews
"This is a very high quality holiday rental home. The layout of the house was perfect and, unlike many holiday homes, the kitchen was really well equipped for cooking. The house was warm and the beds were very comfortable. The house is 50m from the sea and is close to the mountain bike trails at Mabie and Dalbeattie."
"What can you add to what already has been said ,just maybe that it has good wheelchair access into the accommodation and all around the ground floor and ground floor bedrooms for people with mobility problems this is also good. The quare place is expensive but you get what you pay for.We where four adults and two children we all enjoyed our stay at the quare place"
"The Quare Place is a beautiful house and the owners have thought about everything you could need to have a great and restful holiday. The kids had their own en-suite shower room which was great for all of us; the second lounge on the first floor allowed us all to have somewhere for a little peace to read or do yoga which was was great. In all, it was a treat to stay in such a lovely house and wake up each morning and look out to the sea!"
"This was a very comfortable and well designed house. The kennels for the dogs were an excellent idea we could leave them on there to dry especially as we chose the monsoon season. Cooking facilities excellent with every utensil you could think of.the beds were incredibly comfy and with en suites bar one.a real must go back again."
"We ve just returned from a week staying at this lovely cottage. We were greeted warmly at the door by the lovely Wilma, who even had the kettle on for us as soon as we arrived! I can honestly say that this is the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in- you name it, it was there. The rooms were spotless, beautifully decorated throughout, our two elderly relatives were very comfortable in their downstairs en suite rooms, and the upstairs lounge proved invaluable when there was football on the television, and not everybody wanted to watch it! The immediate area is not as great as the cottage, but there are some lovely places to visit by car, and the Quare Place is the ideal place to base yourselves, especially if your group has a wide age range. We have been taking our elderly relatives away for the last five years, and I can honestly say that this is the best accommodation we have stayed in by far."
"We spent a week in October with 3 generations and this house had something for us all. Lots of indoor and outdoor space, kids loved playing outside and tiring out their grandparents! House was immaculate on arrival and we were greeted personally and shown around by the owner which makes such a difference. Loved the fact we all had our own shower/bathrooms and the house was just massive! Beach was lovely and great for walking/kiting/climbing over rocks and searching rock pools. Only tiny downside is it is a bit of a drive to food shops as the local one was winding down for winter and only had a very few basics left & we weren't as organised as normal with Tesco order! Am sure this wouldn't be a problem in high season."
"Fanatastic Holiday for the whole of my family, including my two dogs. We wre greeted by the owner who made us feel very welcome when we arrived. The Quare Place is excellent accomidation, 5 star with all your needs catered for, ideally situated near the beach, safe enviorrment for children with lots of space to play in. The Quare Place had everything we needed for our stay, excellent accomodation very spacious, tastefully decorated , very clean, everything you needed in the kitchen was available for you. The dogs had their own living quarters, their kennels (a great idea) I will be booking another holiday next year at The Quare place and would no hesitation in reccommending this 5 Star holiday home."
"Stayed here 29th Dec - 5th Jan 2013. We had a fantastic stay here and could not fault The Quare Place. The welcome we got from the owners was excellent, very knowledgeable about the area and couldn't do enough to help us. They have thought about absolutely everything with this property even down to having cafetiere's available along with every concievable kithen utensil you will ever need. Dogs are allowed downstairs and we had a baby gate that stopped them going up, they were quite happy downstairs as there is underflooor heating which they seemed to appreciate. There is a pub 200 mts away which has everything you'd expect althjough was very quiet (which we liked) at that time of year. The beach is great for walks and there are many fantastic golf courses in the area. The house is decorated to a high standard and there are plently of bathrooms, 3 of them en-suite. There is a great lounge room upstairs if you have kids, or for us so the blokes could play Fifa against each other. Outside there are washing facilities, and kennels in the garage if needed which was a great idea. The garden would be lovely in the summer too. Overall, I could not rate this place highly enough. The price was excellent and the standard too. Thank-you."
"What a lovely place and such a very pleasant surprise. Not the nicest area of Dumfries, but the accommodation more than made up for that. What more can I say than 15/10 for the accommodation. I had recently had spinal surgery, I found the lounge furniture a bit uncomfortable, the couches could do with updating to achieve the standard of everything else in the accommodation"
