"The cottage needs some TLC. A coat of paint on the front door would help the exterior. The handrail on the external steps is missing and really needs replacing (I'm a bit unsteady and found the steps difficult). There is no information book/pack or visitor book. We did find some product guides in the kitchen, but information regarding the area and local services (eg doctor) really should be there. There was a pile leaflets and printouts but that is no substitute. There was some evidence of damp - particularly in the bathroom. One of my gripes about many holiday lets is the lack of spare light bulbs and that is the case here. We did eventually find one in a kitchen cupboard but as two had failed we juggled bulbs. Storage: Bathroom - The window sill and top of the WC and that's it. Very poor. Bedrooms - Plenty of good storage space. Kitchen - For such a large kitchen there is a suprisingly small amount of available cupboard space. We found the carpets and furniture to be good and the beds very comfortable. The heating was also pretty good although it to a while to find the immersion heater switch. I would suggest that the owners of holiday lets should go and live in them for a while to find out shortcomings themselves. Generally we had a pleasant stay but it would have been better with attention to some of the above points."

"We stayed at this cottage in August 2016 and had specifically chosen this one as we needed a downstairs bathroom for my elderly mother. The cottage was in a nice location and set in a large garden. It was not far from Broadford with easy access to shops and restaurants. However, it appeared that the cottage has not been maintained and the furniture was old and dated. There is a very small television with no dvd player. There were no books or games for the children to play with but more importantly the whole cottage smelled musty and had damp. There are damp patches to most of the ceilings in the bedrooms and a large damp patch on the low wall next to the toilet in the bathroom. The furniture in the main bedroom also has a musty smell. Outside the property, the outdoor steps have no handrail (as shown in the photograph), which made it difficult for my mother to navigate the stairs. The large garden is not suitable for children as it contains a ranshackle shed close to collapse and various pieces of farm machinery. Along one side of the property there was a collection of empty alcohol bottles. On the whole this was a disappointing let and I was concerned with the damp especially as I have young children and an elderly mother."

"While the location is good and the view out the sitting room window toward water is beautiful, we were rather disappointed with this unit. The stale smell when we arrived was strong. The rooms were clean, but carpet and furniture old and not very comfortable. Very disappointed that the little amenities like no toilet paper or paper towels or salt/pepper were provided. The notebook that could have provided info to help on our vacation was outdated and did not include anything helpful, which would have been a simple thing to provide."

"ideal location for cottage,not far from village of Broadford,hotels ect.Cottage very clean,all amenities you could need. Few little niggles,that Im sure could be rectified , cd player in living room does not work,and an addition of a dvd player would be great. Perhaps dampness at end of hall,strong odour,small table with scented candles to mask smell. New shower unit in bathroom. With few tweeks this cottage could be that little bit better.Need a new key lock on railings for key store."
