The attractive village of Ingleton is nestled beneath Ingleborough, one of the famous Three Peaks on the western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Offering a wide range of shops, pubs and places to eat, the winding streets of this pretty village all converge on a central market place. A mile outside of Ingleton and down the Hawes road are the well known White Scar Caves. Open to the public, these caves display a huge number of caverns full of stalactites and stalagmites, with one cave home to a huge underground lake. The superb Falls Walk offers an interesting circuit which takes in some of the impressive cascading waterfalls of the area whilst the proximity to both the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake distract make this an excellent place for walkers.
Reviews
"This place deserves the great reviews it has, we loved the location the views are great, Inside it lives up to the photos very well equipped & very clean, we were made to feel very welcome by Emily & Jonny "
"What a wonderful place to stay, beautifully furnished & very comfortable. It's an ideal location to explore the Dales & the Lakes and we also ventured to ANOB Arnside & Siverdale well worth a visit. We had a lovely welcome from Emily & the welcome pack of bread, eggs, milk, jam & biscuits was a very nice touch. I don't really want to go home & hope to come here again. Thank you."
"I was pleased to see that Emily and Jonny have kept up the lovely service and facilities they had on my last visit five years ago. There is everything you need in the cottage from wood burner to microwave. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and beautifully equipped. Cannot believe our week is almost over. We will return and hopefully not leave it so long in between visits."
"I knew within hours of arrival that I wouldn't want to leave. The stylish cottage in a peaceful setting is so relaxing I felt rejuvenated. Beautifully designed and furnished to the highest standard this is one of the nicest cottages I have stayed in. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners and It is all beautifully kept. An excellent area for visiting North Yorkshire and the lakes.A walkers paradise but plenty to do for the less active. The only possible downside for some would be a privacy issue as there is a public footpath to the front of the property (rarely used) and the patio furniture for the adjoining property is right outside the kitchen window. A small niggle for an otherwise perfect property."
"We stayed at Cowslip Cottage for a week and could not fault any aspect of it. The cottage was spacious and tastefully decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were lovely little touches such as quality toiletries in the bathrooms. The location was idyllic with fabulous views. We would not hesitate in returning or recommending the cottage to friends."
"We are presently staying at this beautiful place and I cannot express enough how beautiful it is. We have travelled and stayed in holiday accommodation the length and breadth of the U.K. And this knocks spots off what we thought were great cottages. The cottage is very large and every whim has been catered for right down to the beautiful and expensive toiletries. We love to cook and the kitchen has every utensil imaginable making catering for ourselves a pleasure and not a chore. We were made very welcome by the owner Emily and nothing is too much trouble. Love the chickens and the lambs and the weather has been kind to us too. We hope to return as we are less than 3 hours drive from Stirling. Checkout the pictures on the website they look fab but believe me they still don't show how perfect this place is. Thank you for a stunning place. Will definitely use the log burner next time though"
"My wife and I looked for a cottage to house both ourselves and another couple, whom we meet up with for a week away together, self catering. We found this one and it is, as stated, a luxury cottage. We were able to take turns to use one car to go not too far for walking in the Dales doing a walk each day, over a period of around four hours. When we came back we were able to sometimes sit out and even have a BBQ a couple of times, having taken our 'little sputnik! ' One evening when I was cooking Jonny was watering and said he could smell an inviting dinner! Both Emily and Jonny made us all very welcome and the time spent just flew by. The beds were extremely comfortable and we could not fault anything."
"The cottage is warm and very spacious with all the mod cons you need to have an enjoyable visit. including a log burner. The owners live in the adjacent property and were very friendly and available when required. It is quiet and peaceful but less than a mile's drive from a well stocked farm shop. Highly recommended."
"We were amazed to find ourselves in such a diverse but beautiful area! The Yorkshire Dales kept us busy with beautiful walks in stunning scenery yet we could visit York, Harrogate and the Lake District all within an easy drive. Our one regret is that we only stayed a week. The cottage is beautiful and the owners so friendly and helpful. Everything was provided down to paper towels, soap powder and hand cream! A real home from home!"
"A great place to stay. Beautifully decorated and furnished. Really enjoyed being able to curl up in front of the log burner whilst the wild January weather was doing its worst outside. In a great location for exploring Yorkshire. We only wish we could have stayed longer. Would absolutely come back again."
"This is a truly lovely holiday cottage that has been finished to a very high standard & has everything you could possibly need to make your stay a success! The views are stunning & it is ideally situated to explore the Yorkshire Dales or Southern Lakes. The owners are very helpful & on hand if you need anything at all. We would definitely return!"
"Beautiful cottage, friendly and helpful owners, quiet location, great view, very clean, and everything you could need in a holiday cottage. The owners have thought of everything to make for a very pleasant stay. We didn't want to leave! Would definitely recommend and we will be back."
"A great 2 bed, 2 bathroom cottage in a barn conversion that includes the owners accommodation & their small b & b ( the rooms in the b & b look stunning). The cottage was very well decorated and comfortable, we spent most evenings around the table in the kitchen, it just seemed right, plenty of room and close to the large fridge/freezer for drinks/snacks etc. The equipment in the kitchen gave everything we needed to prepare anything we wanted. The location was quiet with great views across the fields and a good walk along the river bank to Ingleton (about 1 mile). The owners were on hand and available if you needed them but we found everything we wanted and had no problems. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in a lovely part of the country."
