"This cottage ticked all our boxes: Cosy and comfortable, with log burner Nearby pubs Easy to get to Northumberland sites and attractions The cottage was well equipped, although we could have done with some kindling to get the stove going on the first night but easily got hold of some from the local shop the next day. The kitchen had enough space and equipment to cook a roast! The bed was comfy (perhaps a little too comfy!). I think the only downside was the bathroom, which was mighty cold! The underfloor heating was not apparent and stuck on the back of the cottage it didn't get any heat from the stove / heaters. It did soon warm up from the convector heater, just a bit of an initial cold shock in the mornings. We visited a huge number of sites within 30-45 mins of this location: Cragside, Alnwick Gardens, Craster and Dunstanburgh Castle, Bamburgh and did a local walk ending at one of the pubs. This was ideal for what we wanted. Thank you."

"We had a really good stay - despite the weather! It was interesting to see flood water running past the back door. Thank goodness it never made it into the cottage. For a couple this cottage was ideal. Comfortable, clean, well appointed, close to just about everything of interest, especially Cragside and alnwick castle and with very helpful and friendly owners. One slight negative was the small shower over the bath - not much room for a strapping Scotsman! Would recommend this to any couple."

"Owners seemed friendly, but messy in parts and broken items. Garden unuseable couldn't see the BBQ. Ok if you dont mind cooking in the living room with no ventilation. Location good for visiting sight so Northumberland however."

"Had a really lovely week in this beautiful cottage, really friendly, helpful owners but not at all intrusive. It is in a really convenient location to get anywhere in the area, we enjoyed time in Seahouses, Almouth, Craster and even a day in Berwick upon Tweed. Even though the weather was cold (well you can't really expect anything else in January!) we managed to do lots of walking and and if the weather did get bad there was plenty of shopping to be done in alnwick - spent far to much money in Barter Books. On the whole a lovely holiday, in naturally glorious surroundings. Would have thought the cottage was a little small for a family with more than one child, but it suited us well."

"Lovely cottage and great location for the coast, countryside, Hadrians' Wall, Alnwick and Cragside. The only drawback was we could not use the open fire for the first 5 days of our winter break. Apart from that it is a nicely furnished, clean and very comfortable accommodation."
