Beaufort is a small village situated in a scenic area at the foot of the Macgillycuddy Reeks near the Gap of Dunloe. This is a great location for walking with stunning mountain views. The village has shops, pubs and restaurants, and is situated between Killorglin and Killarney, the latter being a mecca for holidaymakers every year with its wide open countryside, beaches close at hand, annual festivals and great night life, with traditional music played in many of the pubs and bars. A host of activities are available in the area including riding, walking, cycling, golf and fishing.
Reviews
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Kissane's Cottage. It is a beautiful, well-maintained home, with everything you need to enjoy your vacation. There is a nice yard in the front for children to play on. The road leading to the cottage is narrow and winding...you wouldn't want to walk on it. However you can explore the fields behind the home, as they are owned by the homeowner. A walk to the top provides a lovely view of the surrounding countryside. All in all, an economical option for a well-equipped home in the Killarney area. It's a bit of a drive to get to Killarney and the national park, but we thought it was worth it. The home owner is very helpful with anything you may need during your stay."
"The house was well furnished and equipped ,clean, extremely spacious and comfortable. When we arrived our host greeted us,was friendly and helpful. The views from the windows of the nearby mountains are superb and it is excellently situated close to many walks in the Killarney National Park and surrounding area. There is a lot to see locally and it could also be used as a centre to reach many attractions within an hours drive. The jacuzzi bath and the ice cooler and the marvellous facilities all proved a hit with our family."
"The title says it all. Good modern fittings, contemporary styling. Perfect for our group of 6 (including 2 young children). A great place to come back to in the evening. And we had good weather! (August, swimming in the sea...). While the cottage isn't close to amenities, it is well placed to explore the area - centrally placed for activities, beaches, walks. There's loads to do. My only gripe - it would be nice if the back yard was a garden instead. A lawn at least..."
