The ancient market town of Beverley, with its splendid Gothic Minster and the twice-weekly market, is a bustling place and a fabulous holiday base. The town is steeped in history; construction of the Minster began in 1220 and continued until 1425 and over the centuries has been continually added to. Today, skilled artisans and masons are employed in the upkeep of this magnificent building. Other historical building include Ann Routh's hospital, an Almshouse built in 1749, the Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms to name a few. Beverley has a wide variety of shops, eateries and other amenities but is within reach of York, Bridlington and Hull with their own excellent attractions, and all of this is surrounded by glorious countryside just waiting to be discovered.
Reviews
"Right in the middle of Beverley, this apartment is very close to the pubs, shops and restaurants, and so very well situated. Although well equipped, it is small, and space is very tight in the bedroom, bathroom and downstairs toilet where tall visitors may have problems with the low sloping roofs. Note that the view in pictures is of the attractive town centre and not the apartment. The view from the apartment is disappointing one: bins of the local restaurant which are noisily filled many times a day. It was difficult to find the front door on the first day as it was not labelled."
"The apartment was very nicely furnished but up stairs was very cramped and we both had a number of bruises on our head from the ceiling in the bedroom and bathroom . No where to hang clothes doors fell off the runners as soon as we opened them no where to plug in hairdryer or to sit comfortably no mirror in bedroom . Bed was very comfortable but hard to get out of under the eaves . The kitchen was fine but lacked basic things like a chopping board and culinder mixing bowels and only had 2 mugs which proved difficult when we had friends over . The place was very quiet at the weekend but there was generator running next to the flat so very niosey from Mon to wed from around 8 30 am . The place is Very well position for the town centre but parking difficult though parking Should have been sorted for the apartment . Photo on web site miss leading we went to try and see theflat near the archway at North bar with in which is what the web site shows"
"Well situated - just a few steps to the High Street with modern decor and furnishings. There are high quality appliances throughout. The bed is very comfortable.Very clean. The outside approach to the building is unpleasant - like being sent to the Tradesman's entrance, with its bins, vehicles, weeds and debris. Parking spaces in the vicinity are very difficult to find. The downstairs toilet is under the stairs and it's almost impossible to avoid banging your head on the sloping ceiling. At 5'5" I struggled to use the shower, which is over the bath. The ceiling is sloping and the shower screen is rigid leaving little room to move. Only one side of the bed is accessible comfortably. The only hanging and drawer space for clothes is in the eaves, forcing you to kneel to use it. I would not recommend unless you are single, short, slim and supple."
"First of all, if you want to spend any time in E.Yorkshire then Beverley is the ideal place, a good old fashioned market town with loads of decent pubs and restaurants. Secondly, if you are staying in Beverley then, for a couple, this is ideal. The property is yards from the centre of town (whilst being no way noisy - its not that kind of place). The property is an apartment in a block of 7 (though we never heard any noise from the neighbours ) and is very well furnished so, if you wanted, you could stay home and cook every night. One final thing, we had a minor problem (our fault) and the property owner (Nikki) was very helpful in sorting it. I would not hesitate in recommending the place."
"The apartment is well placed in the centre of Beverley. It was absolutely spotless, well equipped and stylish. It's not the biggest apartment but it is thoughtfully laid out and perfect for a couple. Nicola was really helpful and we couldn't have been made more welcome. Highly recommended"
