The traditional Pennine village of Hepworth is located in the heart of the beautiful Holme Valley, on the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines. First noted in the Domesday Book, the village is composed of stone cottages, a beautiful church and an excellent pub with restaurant. The village itself still practices many traditions including the centuries old Hepworth Feast commemorating the end of the Great Plague in Hepworth on the last Saturday of every June. The neighbouring towns of Hepworth and Holmfirth are most renowned as the home of the long running comedy series 'Last of the Summer Wine'. The nearby Colne Valley is home to the fictional 'Skelthwaite' from the equally successful television series 'Where the Heart Is'. This is an incredibly scenic area, steeped in history and tradition.

"This cottage is part of the larger farm with access to the pool, and small 'playground'. We were disappointed with the location as the children were unable to play on the climbing frame on their own, which meant that someone had to walk up from the cottage to watch them. The cottage is actually nestled in amongst houses in the village, which makes it difficult to sit outside in the evening, without (understandably) upsetting the neighbours. There do seem to be a lot of rules for things that don't necessarily need saying. "

"Bray Cottage was lovely, it had everything we needed. There was something for everyone to do. Feeding the animals in the morning, then a private swim session in the pool (steam room & sauna if you wish) , then we went to help let the hens out and collect the eggs. My 12yr old daughter absolutely loved helping. My 13yr old daughter not an animal person but she loved the swimming and cottage, also we all went on some walks around the area which were recommended. My husband loved the animals, cottage and walking, there are lots of photo opportunities if interested in photography, I Ioved everything but preferred the easier walks as not as fit as i should be. Everyone was welcoming and lovely. Fresh Eggs for breakfast if you wish, also available is different meats if you have nice weather, here is a barbeque in the shed. Fantastic all round holiday. Charlotte just reminded me to say that there is a play area where you will find LEO a really cute rabbit, who is trying to dig a tunnel under his play pen (hope he doesn't escape) There is also a big shed (games room) Pool table, football table and table tennis. Would definately Recommend this holiday. A+++"

"This cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed with plenty of space for us and our 3 young children. We all enjoyed joining in with the activities on the farm and the playground also, was great for the children. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We had good weather for april and had plenty of opportunities to explore the local area with its wealth of lovely walks etc.The highlight was being able to swim in the pool every day, particularly as it was lovely and warm and the booking system meant that you could reserve a session for private use before each day and plan your other activities accordingly."

"We felt welcome in this cottage, which is based on a farm. Our children enjoyed collecting eggs in the morning and helping to feed the animals. The most relaxing part of the holiday was the hour and a half each day of exclusive use of the indoor pool and sauna, where you can recline and watch the geese potter about through the windows. Plenty of pretty walks from the village and lots for children to do in the area. Ours enjoyed visiting Eureka in Halifax and the National Mining Museum near Wakefield. The cottage was clean and cosy."
