Reviews
"This immaculate, spacious, cozy, comfortable accommodation, in the heart of the beautiful Ceiriog Valley, could not have been better thought out. There is absolutely everything you could need for a family get together of 8 (takes 10) and everyone really appreciated the planning you have put into it. Delightfully furnished and comfy beds. We loved all the outside seating spots you have dotted around for a leisurely brunch or a few sherbets early evening and as the pub is just 55 seconds walk away that was a bonus! Situated for pleasant drives to Chirk Castle, Llangollen, Snowdonia or the Harlech coast. Davina, your Housekeeper, does an amazing job - it is spotless. We will be returning for sure. Jackie"
"A barn conversion with the feel of a house and coziness of a cottage, perfect. We stayed for a mid week break for a family get together. It was ideal there was plenty of space for 8 of adults and two dogs, its very well equipped, and set in beautiful surroundings, with a lovely large garden. We had scenic walks along quiet country lanes which the dogs loved, the local Inn is next door and is dog friendly with a good a selection of wine, ales and good food. A good time was had by all."
"Our family had an amazing weekend! This cottage is 5 star plus, it is well furnished, very well equipped, exceptionally clean, spacious, well laid out, homely and secure big gardens. The views are stunning - put the log burner on (a basket of logs are supplied for each log burner) and look at the landscape, wake up in the morning to the sheep and the horses in the next field. There is lots of information about places to visit as well as a manual on how all the equipment works in the cottage. The owners have thought of everything to make your holiday perfect. Another plus is the pub right next door that has fantastic food. We are so looking forward to booking this cottage in the very near future. Highly recommended!"
"This cottage is very comfortable and fully equiped with everthing necessary for a family holiday. Three generations were easily accommodated, with lots of space inside and out for the children to play. The location is very quiet and unspoilt with many nearby places of interest to visit."
"Location is perfect for and the scenery is great, amenities in cottage cannot be faulted, more than enough room for 4 adult couples and no distance at all to the restaurant/pub.plenty of things to see in the local area."
"This property has it all, spacious, well equipped and beautifully clean, exceptionally well finished and furnished, in a perfect position for touring Wales and in a beautiful secluded quiet valley, right next door to an excellent pub/hotel/restaurant with fantastic food. Ample space for all but the largest of families with several smaller areas to relax beside the well appointed living room with sky TV and DVD, communal dining room and separate kitchen/breakfast room with utility room and w/c attached. Large gardens, some areas of which you do need to supervise children as advised by the notices posted, Due to different levels with drops from the lawned upper area. If you book this property you will not be disappointed."
"This house is simply stunning .... warm, comfortable, spacious and clean, with stunning views !! The owner went out of her way to help, the housekeeper was lovely and the house is a credit to both of them !! My family enjoyed every single minute staying in this house... Every detail has been thought of and we cannot fault anything !! It was a perfect long weekend and would love to visit the house again. Thank you very much for our stay."
"Having rented cottages throughout Britain and Europe for many years this cottage has to be one of the best. Superb location, beautifully fitted and maintained. There were three patio's and sitting areas set in wonderfully maintained gardens. A pub and restaurant only 50 metres away made it perfect. Situated in the lovely Ceiriog Valley the cottage was well placed for visiting LLangollen, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. A canal walk along the aquaducts are a must, Chrirk Castle is also worthy a visit. Highly recommended"
"Having come from Ontario Canada, we stayed here for one week in September 2015 with 7 relatives and the accommodations were everything we expected. We all had our own space and it was amazing to have everything you needed. We had a family picnic with our UK relatives and found that the fully equipped kitchen made this day a memorable one. The heated floors were awesome, all rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Close to a pub and breathtaking views. This cottage is is a must to rent and hope come back someday."
"7 of us booked this rental for a week and it surpassed all expectations. There was so much space and it was so well equipped we were well impressed. Beautiful views all around, 3 separate outdoor seating area and some beautiful weather meant we could really enjoy the stunning location. The beds were all very comfortable and bedding beautifully coordinated and high quality. I loved the underfloor heating and wood burners. We will definitely be back."
"We rented this accommodation for my boyfriend's 30th birthday celebrations. Everyone who entered the house was overwhelmed with how wonderful the house looked! The kitchen space was fantastic, the dining area was perfect and the living area was so cosy with the fire. I assure you no-one made a comment about the lack of coat hooks. This is not a problem. It was wonderful to have a hand written note assuring us if we needed anything the owners were a phone call away, also, leading up to the event the owners were helpful every step of the way. I can not praise this accommodation enough and would highly recommend you to book this asap! We used this house as a base for a trip to Snowdonia and we had an amazing time."
"We rented Ysgubor Celyn Megan for a long weekend to celebrate my mother's 60th birthday. What made me select it was the bedroom layout, being perfect for 4 couples and one child. On arrival everything was very clean and the space available is impressive. One thing noted by us all as we arrived was the lack of coat hooks in the hall, we later discovered some in the cubby hole in the kitchen, but really for a large group who are potentially likely to go out walking etc given the location, a nice spaced row of hooks to hang coats in the hall would be ideal. The kitchen and utility provide a large useful and sociable area. The range cooker was a bit slow, the large fan oven did not heat up brilliantly on the first evening it simply would not heat about about 150, the next day it seemed better, we managed! Overall the place is very well supplied with crocks, pots and pans etc. The underfloor heating is very efficient. The bedrooms were nicely presented with good quality linen, the upstairs rooms are compact but make good use of the space that is available, the upstairs bathroom feels a little cramped in but again, it makes efficient use of the space there is. Stair gates are already in place which is most useful! The downstairs en suite room was very nice, there is also a lovely shower room on the ground floor, adjacent to the family room, which is particularly nice I thought. Beds were in general found to be a bit too much on the soft side,in the smaller upstairs room bed the springs in the mattress were easily felt, maybe remedied by a good mattress topper? Beds are very individual so we appreciated you can not please everybody! Seating is available in the conservatory, nice for a quiet rest with a cup of tea and then the main sitting room, lovely high ceiling, rug and woodburner but unfortunately we all found the sofas rather uncomfortable and tired feeling, saggy middles! If these were updated with perhaps a quality couple of armchairs too, it would be perfect. There are fantastic walks nearby, myself and my husband went on quite a good hike on the saturday, hills are very steep but paths are all well marked and we found ourselves around a fantastic if a little challenging circular walk in a few hours. It is a great base for a family occasion, the garden is well fenced and nicely lawned, parking area is very substantial, views are lovely on all sides and it is not too far from local towns. The pub is right next to it and was very pleasant for a drink before dinner and the local shop is well stocked. Wifi is present but has a fairly poor range (works best if you are in the kitchen) Main TV is in the sitting room, one in the en suite bedroom downstairs and one in the nicer upstairs room. For our group we would have preferred small tvs in all bedrooms, but that may not bother others!"
"Having struggled to find a place to stay that could accommodate 10 people, I came a cross this gem of a place in the hills! We were all pleasantly surprised at the size of the accommodation and the location is absolutely stunning. The cottage is spotlessly clean and it is the first place I have stayed in where they have thought of everything you need right down to dish cloths and washing liquid. The under floor heating was a bonus, although the cottage was toasty warm. The owners were very helpful when I rang to ask questions and they even had a housekeeper who was equal helpful, especially when one of the guest left something behind. I received a phone call to say they would send the item back to us in the post. It is so very rare to get excellent customer care like this. The whole weekend was excellent and I can't wait to go back!"
