Reviews
"Superb accommodation that was everything we wanted. Good interior space and extremely comfortable for us visiting as 2 couples. Peaceful countryside location with all the amenities of Dunvegan a short walk or drive away. Nicely modernised kitchen and all rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed. Will certainly use Hill Cottage for our next visit to Skye."
"We've stayed in Dunvegan before and loved it. We booked the cottage through Sykes - we've used them before and trust them. The cottage is everything as advertised and a bit more. The accommodation is superb and extremely well equipped. The location is fabulous - detached with plenty of garden and parking. Very accessible to Dunvegan - 15 minutes walk and you've got choices where to eat or drink. We've already decided that we'll be back in Dunvegan and we've already decided that we'll go back to Hill Cottage."
"This was the first time we, as a family, had booked a cottage to stay in for our holidays and we were delighted when we arrived to see it had exceeded our expectations. We were a couple with our two 'children' of 16 and 19 in tow. They had the rooms on the first floor and we took the room on the ground floor with the en-suite. The en-suite was a bit tight and I much preferred using the bathroom upstairs but it was a handy back-up when the others were hogging the bathroom. The owners have really thought of everything, with huge soft towels in each room, bread, cake and milk in the kitchen and everything you'd need to have a comfortable stay. Dunvegan itself is ideal for Skye, sitting close enough to Portree that the 22 mile drive isn't a trial. Whilst you will find that the shops in Duinvegan can keep you stocked, I would still make a trip to Portree to the large Co-op on the outskirts of town at the start of your break. We found our-self about an hour from the likes of Quirang and the Fairie Pools and only a couple of minutes drive from Dunvegan Castle with it's seal spotting tours I'd highly recommend the cottage itself. We felt at home straight away and could easily have moved in permanently...my wife had suggested it :)"
"This property is without doubt one of the best we have experienced, it actually says what it says on the tin !. The owners show an obvious pride in the property and its family history. We had a wonderful relaxing week there, one fault though, we had to leave !"
"Travelled with grown up family members. Cottage was spotless and amenities excellent. In a great location. We spent most nights outside looking at the scenery and watching the local wildlife. A couple of nights we watched owls swooping over the adjacent field and enjoyed the acrobatics of the local bats. A visit to Tallisker Distillery is highly recommended and we had a fabulous langoustine and chips at The Oyster Shed. The scenery at Neist Point is breathtaking. We all fell in love with the Isle of Skye and will definitely be visiting again."
"We stayed at hill cottage, 4 adults and 2 children. The cottage is beautiful in a stunning location, perfect for exploring Skye and a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Dunvegan. The cottage was immaculately clean, it had everything and more than we needed and Donnie G was great to deal with and very friendly. We'll definitely return. Lots of lovely surprises await your arrival !"
"A beautiful holiday cottage, lovingly refurbished to a very high standard. Everything has been thought of which made our stay so enjoyable. I will not give any more details as l do not wish to spoil it for future guests but the surprise in the fridge was yummy! thankyou :-)"
"The cottage was lovely. Clean and tidy inside and also comfortable. The views are amazing. The garden is completley enclosed which was great for our dog as there are sheep all over the place. I highly recommend the cottage and would love to go back again."
"Fabulous cottage - immaculately clean, superbly equipped and really hospitable owners. Every detail and comfort was considered - fire was laid, fuffy towels, laundry liquid, dishwasher tablets, fuel included in rental etc. There was even a freshly baked cake, loaf of bread and bottle of milk left for our arrival. Weather was pretty stormy when we were there, and the cottage felt secure and cosy. It was lovely to come home to at the end of a day's adventuring. Dunvegan is a great centre for exploring the Island and I couldn't recommend this cottage as your base, enough."
"Hill Cottage has been lovingly refurbished to a very high standard. From the luxurious towels to the home-baked cake welcoming you on your arrival, this holiday home has been well thought out and is charmingly delivered. There are DVDs, a multi-fuel stove, board games (including a beautiful chess board), a cloakroom for damp coats and messy shoes, beautiful crockery, comfy beds and to top it all it was absolutely immaculate! Highly recommended!!"
"A gem of a cottage from start to finish. The highest of quality decor throughout. The standard of all the facilities is one of the highest we have ever experience. Everything you could possible need is in this cottage, from bluray to wifi, books, games, DVDs, blurays, cutlery, crockery etc. There is nothing the owners haven't thought about. The views from the cottage are lovely and great location for travel around Skye. The fresh bread and homemade Victoria sponge on arrival was a nice touch. We would definitely recommend staying here it truly is worth a visit."
"This cottage is beautifully furnished and is one of the only cottage that we have stayed at that even had a set of good kitchen knives. It is comfortable and cosy with everything you need if the weather turns against you, even down to great wi-fi. It is exactly as described and we don't think that anybody could be disappointed. The owners had left a fresh loaf of bread and a sponge cake for us which is a really nice touch and was delicious. The area has fantastic scenery and nice places to eat, we really liked the Three Chimneys at Colbost. If you want to go to Skye and want to be based around Dunvegan, book this cottage...!!"

"Hill Cottage is one the best self catering cottages I've rented. Spacious, well-equipped, all mod-cons, extremely comfortable and warm. Wood burning fire will plentiful supply of wood was welcomed. The owners have thought of every comfort. The homemade bread and cake was delightful. Location - perfect, just outside Dunvegan so easily walkable to town and restaurants. Overall, couldnt recommend enough."
