Set in a wonderful position between the mountains and the sea, Harlech is a beautiful small town with an impressive skyline, dominated by its majestic 13th Century castle. This fortress is often considered the finest built by Edward I in North Wales and has been granted World Heritage status. As home to the famous Royal St. David's golf course, the town is very popular with golfers. The clean, sandy beach is another draw for families looking to enjoy a traditional holiday by the sea. The town provides a wide selection of local amenities including good quality restaurants and excellent shops. The Snowdonia National Park, together with the sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay, are both within easy driving distance, adding to the diversity of this region.
Reviews
"Very we'll equipped cottage with great views from the garden. Easy to walk to all local facilities."
"Great holiday in excellent location, would definitely want to go back"
"Me and my partner stayed for a week in May. The first weekend we were joined by another couple of friends and the cottage is plenty big enough for 2 couples. It is very well equipped- - they have thought of everything in the kitchen. There's a dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer etc. We ate in a couple of nights and there is a dining room table that expands.. The decking area is up some steep stairs and has beautiful views of the sea and castle. It was a shame the weather wasn't hotter as we would have liked to sit out there and have a BBQ. Beds, duvet and pillows were extremely comfortable, good storage. Bathroom lovely with a good shower and bath. All in all a great little cottage. Within walking distance you will find the castle, there is an Indian Restaurant, and a fantastic restaurant called The Plas - if you sit in the conservatory it has spectacular views of the coast and castle and we ate watching the sun going down. There's a pub just round the corner from the cottage and we joined in the Wednesday pub quiz and found the staff and locals were very friendly. Would recommend the cottage and would use Harlech as a base to explore North Wales again."
"Very easy to find and very conveniently placed in the village. Great view of the castle especially from the top terrace garden. Nice shops a few steps away and some good tea rooms. The west Indian restaurant was an unexpected gem - delicious food. The cottage had all we needed and was easy to run. The parking restrictions are a minor hassle but car parks are cheap and not far away. The log fire/central heating worked overtime as the weather was very cold when we stayed. Once we were out, it was easy to access North Wales - would be good for Snowdonia."
"Just spent a wonderful week at this comfortable well equipped house. The area is beautiful with lots to do. Long beach walks, cycling and train trips. I happily recommend the property and the area."
"We found the holiday house very comfortable, clean and tidy. Great to be able to walk out your door and to be in village life and mingle with the locals in the quaint interesting little shops. It was very central to what we wanted to see, In particular Portmeirion where we had a lovely day, The Harlech Castle which was in view, had plenty of history to discover, in walking distance from the house. Great views of the mountains and castle. The long sandy beach which seemed to stretch for miles, but had hardly a sole on it, was also walking distance. Our son enjoyed the many walks into the tree clad hills behind the town in the area and found interesting sites."
"Beautiful cottage, in a lovely location with stunning views. What more can I say?!"
"We already gave you our review, not long after we returned! We enjoyed the time in Harlech very much and the house is perfect!"
