Reviews
"Spent 5 nights here for a bit of much needed peace and tranquility to recharge the batteries.. The bungalow is isolated but easy to get to along a farm track leading to the owners own property, and only 10 minutes from the town of Llandrindod Wells. ( Far enough away for some downtime but still close to civilisation). The bungalow is spotlessly clean, bright and airy and well maintained throughout. The wi-fi is brilliant and never caused any issues. The lobby area provides numerous hints tips and leaflets on the area and Wales in general to assist is planning your stay. The kitchen area is fully equipped with everything that you could ever need for up to six people. The beds were lovely and comfortable and the open fire was a treat on a cool autumn night. However, the real start of the show was the 6 person hot tub !!! Situated close to the house and with its own gazebo and outside heater and decking. It was absolutely fabulous and many hours were spent relaxing in it chilling out with a glass or three of wine while admiring the views of the countryside and watching the red kites flying overhead. I just wish I could have fitted it into the boot of the car before i left ! The owner Ruth was absolutely lovely and left a lovely welcome pack of a bottle of wine, welsh cakes etc on arrival. She was on hand if anything was needed but was always discreet and never in your face allowing you to simply get on and enjoy your break. I would recommend Gwynfan Bungalow without hesitation to anyone looking for a well equipped, homely property, some peace and quiet and a central base to tour Wales... but don't hang around ... property this good is very hard to find and will be snapped up quickly. Will definitely return when next in the area."
"Our friendship (2 boys, 2 girls) booked a couple of days here (15th to 17th feb) for a bit of a hot tub getaway. We weren't sure what to expect, but were blown away with our weekend. Firstly, to say, the owner Ruth was both easy to deal with in the run up to our weekend away, and very welcoming when we arrived. She met us at the property to explain a few of the details and to check we were settling in - this was very much appreciated. The cottage is wonderful. Set in a rural location on a working farm but still easy to get to - it was the perfect rural retreat. Large, warm rooms, a well stocked kitchen, and an open fire (with free logs from Ruth) in the lounge, and of course, the amazing hot tub outside, complete with a variety of jets and lighting features. Absolutely epic. Whilst we did get out and about to do a walk, we spent the majority of our stay having a few drinks and soaking in the hot tub. I wish I was still there, to be honest, and could have stayed in it from dawn until dusk! We will absolutely be re-booking, and recommend anyone to give this a go. Thanks again Ruth! The GEMM family."
"Fabulous relaxing setting. Well laid out bungalow with a fabulous hotub and great views of the countryside. Listening to the cows and sheep and watching the birdlife was just bliss. The owners are very friendly and the home has everything you need. We had a Tesco order delivered so need to take food with us but also there is a large Tesco five minutes drive away near a lovely pub (recommended for Sunday lunch) The Llanerch"
"Every year 5 of us like to take a late holiday somewhere in the UK and as 2 of the party are disable we try to rent a bungalow so this year we decided to come to Wales and we are so pleased that we did. On arrival we were greeted with a very nice welcome pack and a very spacious clean place that would be our home for the next week. The kitchen come diner has everything that you could possibly want in it and the bedrooms were also very spacious. You will find within easy driving distance a lot of places to visit from the Brecon Beacons to the south to Snowdonia to the north our personal highlight was a trip to a Red Kite feeding station a must by anyone visiting this area. With the addition of a Hot-Tub and patio area this bungalow is well worth anyone considering a holiday in Wales. Just like to thank Ruth for making our stay very comfortable and hopefully we will be back"
"This was our second stay at Gwynfan and it was like returning home. The bungalow is beautiful and very well equipped with everything you could need during your stay. The views from the front are spectacular and a well kept garden surrounds it. The large garage is so useful for leaving walking boots and wet coats and drying wet dogs! The lounge has an open fireplace and your first basket of logs is supplied free, more logs in garage at a nominal charge. This year the owner has installed a hot tub and gazebo both in a safely enclosed area also with far reaching views. There are some lovely walks from the bungalow and many places of interest a short drive away. Elan Valley reservoirs are well worth a visit also the Red Kite feeding station near Rhayader. Sometimes the track away from the bungalow can become a bit muddy when wet so you will need boots, but this is only to be expected near a busy working farm. All in all this is a beautiful place to have a peaceful, relaxing break and we loved it and hope to return again."
