Basford View is a convenient base for touring, being close to Churnet Valley Railway, the Roaches, Tittesworth Reservoir and Alton Towers. The ultimate in "year-round" appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Shops and pub 10 mins walk.

The market town of Leek is situated on the western side of The Peak District National Park and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture - a reminder of the town's prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, bookshops and galleries and there is good selection of restaurants and real ale pubs. Alton Towers is less than 20 minutes drive away.

"We stayed at Basford View for a month in May and really enjoyed our holiday. The property was in a lovely location, very clean and the owner Paul was very helpful. The area is lovely for walking and only three miles from the main town of Leek. There are three pubs in walking distance offering good food and ale and a couple of shops and chemist nearby. The house contained everything we needed, with a lovely garden maintained by Paul and beautiful views looking towards the Peak district and Churnet valley. will definitely return soon."
