This is a ground floor barn conversion on the edge of Brandsby in North Yorkshre, it can sleep four people in two bedrooms. All ground floor. Two bedrooms: 1 x king-size double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x twin. Shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner.
Barn Owl Cottage is a detached barn conversion just outside of Brandsby in North Yorkshiree. This all ground floor cottage has a king-size double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, a twin bedroom and a shower room, it can sleep up to four people. It also comes with an open-plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with a woodburner. Outside, there is off road parking for two cars, bike storage and a paved terrace to the side with furniture and a barbecue. Barn Owl Cottage is a lovely base for your holiday. The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

The tranquil little village of Brandsby in the Vale of York is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounded by the Howardian Hills. Crayke with its award winning pub, Stillington with two pubs and a local shop, and the bustling market town of Easingwold are all close by. Family friendly attractions include miniature and full size steam railways, Flamingo Land, and superb eateries. Pretty villages, lively market towns and great walking opportunities are all within easy reach, and the surrounding area has a rich history and offers Castle Howard, Byland Abbey and Helmsley Castle.

"Barn Owl cottage was nothing short of a total pleasure to stay in. It really did feel like a proper holiday with a cosy fire, a beautifully equipped house, a wonderful welcome (cake, tea/coffee/milk and bread on arrival) and the most immaculate standard of housekeeping an cleanliness. I must confess, I am always a bit nervous about cleanliness and my expectations were greatly exceeded by the standard of everything at this beautiful cottage. The owners couldn't have been more kind and helpful, always available should you need advice and pointers about the house or lovely local areas but never intrusive. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this beautiful cottage, cooking meals at night, turning the fire on and playing the games that are there for guests to use. Beds were so comfortable and the bathrooms were warm and toasty with heated floors, you really couldn't fault any part of the stay. My only real regret was that we couldn't stay longer! We had a wonderful stay and genuinely cannot recommend it enough. If peace, tranquillity and a beautifully furnished and maintained cottage is what you are looking for, then Barn Owl is the one for you, 100%."
"Brandsby middle of beautiful countryside on edge of Howardian hills. Had a lovely relaxing time with family. Bungalow very well facilitated with double roomy on suite and twin room with shower next door along passageway. Lovely warm kitchen come sitting room with wood burner fire (my favourite). Lovely personal touches like welcoming cake, milk tea and coffee and even loaf of bread. Nice relaxing time, shame to finish holiday. Will definitely return."

"We need ground floor accommodation for my wife, this cottage provided that plus so much more. Beautifully converted barn with so many interesting features. Perfect for the sun in the morning, we were able to enjoy coffee on the terrace. Very comfortable, we will be back"

"What an Absolutely amazing place we were very impressed everything was perfect from the welcome to the thoughtfulness of the welcome pack and info provided. a very clean and spotless property,we really enjoyed our stay here so luxurious and relaxing we would recommend to anyone the power showers and Underfloor heating and comfy beds were lovely. Excellent distance from everywhere you could want to visit,York is an excellent city we used the park and ride, we visited Piglets and DIggerland and creepy crawlies adventure park, all enjoyed very much by our son and ate out at various different pubs etc we especially enjoyed the White bear inn at Stillington, we visited Stillington park and Rowntree park in york,"
"Barn Owl Cottage was an ideal base for our Yorkshire holiday. The cottage is wonderfully inviting, warm and cosy, equipped with everything you could need. The beds are really comfortable and the walk-in shower amazing! Wi-fi access enabled us to stay in contact with our family. Sadly it was not cold enough for us to light the wood burner. Maybe next time! We went from the cottage to York, using the Park and RIde; to Whitby for seaside and fish and chips; to Castle Howard; across the moor to Helmsley and Rievaulx Abbey as well as dining at excellent local inns. The owners were very helpful and the Welcome Pack provided was greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to a return visit."

"We have stayed in many places over time - but this was by far the best. It had all you could want and then some. Easy to find, magic views from kitchen window, central for just about everything north of the city of York. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone."
"This was a nice conversion, very comfortable, well equipped, and with a very friendly welcome. The showers were good, though the en-site shower room very cosy! The beds comfy and the kitchen well stocked. Excellent food and pubs around and in a good place for touring the area. The downside is the proximity to a fairly busy road, very busy at weekends, which surprised us since the road on the map looks quite quiet. The noise into the kitchen/sitting area is obvious despite double glazing. The bedrooms are furthest away so less of an issue. Some may not see this as an issue, not mentioned before on previous reviews, so just a reflection that we all had. I would recommend but only with a caution on the location. The only other comment is that there was no landline and mobile reception was awful/ non existent; worrying in case of an emergency."
"We arrived at this cottage to discover it was everything that was advertised. We were welcomed by the friendly owners. No details were left untouched. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything that you would need. The cottage was clean with a nice modern decor from bedding and luxurious walk in showers. The location was ideally situated close to all amenities and major routes to other areas in North Yorkshire. Just a short drive to York and the train station to whisk you away to other destinations. It was truly a home away from home and will recommend this location to friends and families!"
