Located between Ballyvaughan and Doolin in County Clare, the popular village of Fanore is a great place for walkers and surfers, due to its sandy beach. Its location on the edge of the Burren - renowned for its unique flora, fauna and rugged landscape – also make this a site of interest to nature lovers and bird watchers. Also close by, and providing sharp contrast, is the town of Lisdoonvarna - home to the only active spa centre in Ireland, boasting a Victorian pump house, sauna, massage room and mineral baths situated in woodland surroundings. The town is also home to the annual Matchmaking Festival, a 150-year old tradition that takes place during September and October. Lisdoonvarna also boasts eight pubs - some of which offer traditional Irish music - and numerous good shops and restaurants.
Reviews
"Our wedding anniversary falls on New Year's Eve and so it has always been difficult to just celebrate the anniversary without year end celebrations overtaking. so this year as it was out 30th we were determined to do something special and alone!! This cottage was everything we were looking for: Great location, remote, superb facilities, unique, sea views and fantastic walks. Dan and Rosie, the landlords, could not have been more helpful - although we did not meet them, communications by email, text and phone were fast and most helpful. We travelled locally and made the most of Gus O'Connors pub in in Doolin which had fantastic traditional Irish music and dancing with superb food and hospitality. A day's shopping in Galway was a welcome experience compared with the repetitive multiple retailers normally found in cities. The house is very well appointed and a great deal of thought has gone into providing all the little extras that are so often missing in holiday lets. We are definitely going back which is the best endorsement we can offer"
