"What a fabulous place to stay, great for base for York, Scarborough, Whitby & all surrounding areas. Had everything we wanted and added bonus the beautiful pool. Dog friendly too. Lovely friendly welcome with a box of fresh eggs. Will be visiting again."

"Welcoming and friendly owners who have a great knowledge of the local area. Apartment is clean and comfortable with everything you could want for a short stay. While you are out in the country there is a good pub serving good food a short walk away. Malton is close by and worth a visit in itself. Coast, countryside and forest all within easy driving distance too."

"We stayed mid August and managed to get a week with great weather (which always helps!) Rosie and Trevor (owners) were really helpful and friendly. The apartment was great, everything you need and clean. With local walks with our dog, easy access to pubs and restaurants and supermarkets (we ate in a bit as well as going out a few times), quiet location with a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, you couldn't really ask for much more. Thanks for a great week. "

"Hartswood West is one of two apartments situated above the swimming pool. The apartment is clean and comfortable and has everything you need. The double and twin beds are all very comfortable and we slept very well for the whole week, just what we needed. There are sloping ceilings but they didn't cause us a problem and my husband is 6ft 2. Access is via an outdoor staircase - it might be tricky with very young children, fine once they are safe on stairs. The pool was a huge bonus, there are only three holiday rentals on site so it never gets busy. You just take the covers off whenever you want to use it and put them back if you're last out. The pool was lovely and warm and there is a jacuzzi which isn't too hot so my nine year old son could use it - his first ever jacuzzi, he loved it! Location wise, Hartswood is off the A64 about ten minutes drive from Malton. There are supermarkets in Malton and a village shop a couple of minutes drive away just off the A64. There is some road noise when the windows are open but it's not too bad. There are goats and chickens in the field which children can have a look at. There is also a large patio and grassy area just outside the apartment, great for BBQs and for playing on. There is lots to see in the area within half an hour's drive. We visited Yorkshire Lavender, Castle Howard, Scarborough, Dalby Forest and Eden Camp as well as the tiny cinema at Malton. The only down sides were: the apartment is very warm in summer due to the skylights and heated pool underneath, we slept with the windows open; the conservatory area in front of the pool was looking a little tired and in need of some tidying and sprucing up."

"we stayed in september and really enjoyed our stay. rosie and trevor (owners) are friendly and helpful and always there for any questions you might have. we stayed (i think) in Flat 1. It's the perfect short break accommodation - comfortable with all the facilities you'd want. we cooked in one night and found everything we needed. theyve really thought out the contents of the accommodation so that you want for nothing. location wise, it is 'out in the sticks' but the plus side is that it means you can access lots of interesting places in 30-40 mins by car. you do need a car to stay here! a big plus is there's a swimming pool and jacuzzi with changing areas to use including in the price! a v nice touch. would happily stay again and pleased to recommend..."
