The rural Norfolk village of Litcham has a good choice of local conveniences, including a pub, a butchers, a general store with a Post Office, and a traditional fish and chip shop. The village is home to a beautiful church with a square tower that dates back to the 12th century but was extensively rebuilt in the 15th. Litcham and the surrounding villages including Beeston and Tittleshall all offer a busy calendar of events. The Local Nature Reserve of Litcham Common, that sits on the Nar Valley Way and runs all the way from East Dereham to King's Lynn, offers superb wildlife watching and walking opportunities to nature lovers. 10 miles distant you will find the local towns of East Dereham, Swaffham and Fakenham which all offer a good assortment of pubs, restaurants and shops.
Reviews
"Nice location, friendly village pub. Good access to all points of interest around Norfolk. A warm welcome fromthe owner with some breakfast treats kindly supplied for us. Views are lovely and the village was quiet. Sad to say it was not the comfiest of stays, it smelt strongly of dog and musk, dog hairs found in the main beds, the spare bedding for the sofa bed smelt many months old therefore I had to resort to sleeping under my coat for a lack of clean bedding. Cutlery and crockery had to be thoroughly soaked and scrubbed before we could use it. On our final night the heating did not seem to come on. Wifi was poor and sockets took an age to charge our phones. Furnishing are really tired and I feel it would have been hard to spend a week here. 3 nights was just about doable. We had a great time away but it was always a bit awkward coming back here in the evenings knowing the dust, hairs and cobwebs were waiting for us. It is a real shame. "
"Very welcoming owner, and accommodation very comfortable, although furnishings 'tired'. The sunsets are amazing, and would recommend the hot tub. I do not consider it dog friendly because the tiny garden is laid to stones which are not suitable for dogs to walk upon. There is no fencing separating the courtyard from the field. Dogs must be on a lead at all times outdoors which is very inconvenient and limiting for the dog. I would recommend the cottage is you don't have a dog only. Wifi was hit and miss, very poor signal, we could only pick up now and then."
"We stayed for a week during December. Comfy, warm and relaxing. Lovely owners who were very hospitable. Lovely welcome pack which was a lovely touch. Will definitely return. "
"Wonderful holiday. The owners couldn't do enough for you. Lovely welcome pack. Very comfortable and warm. Will definitely return"

Have a country & sea holiday -Litcham & Sheringham at our cottage 256956 - 11 Barchams Yard,Sheringham. Enjoy Norfolk!!"
"enjoyed every aspect of our stay, the hot tub was a bonus. will defo try to stay there again."
"Mum and I enjoyed a fabulous week here earlier this summer. The owners are so thoughtful, considerate and very unintrusive, which is lovely as the cottage is attached to their home. The welcome pack provided was great to start our week off perfectly and the cottage is well stocked with everything you'd need to make it feel very much like home. Simply a great little place, that we'd definately recommend."
"Perfect for two, an ideal base for exploring all of north Norfolk, including the Broads & Norwich. The owners are on hand but not in your face, friendly & helpful. We were blessed with perfect weather, which always helps, but we didn't want to leave and have booked for next year already."
"The property was just what we wanted, spot on for the two of us. The owner was there to greet us on our arrival, and made us feel very welcome. The kitchen was stocked with tea, coffee, milk and many other goodies. The location was ideal for us as we wanted to tour the area, and property was comfortable and clean."
"Wonderful holiday. Vendors extremely friendly and helpful, the welcome pack was wonderful. It had everything to get us started and more. The village setting is lovely and my daughter loved feeding the wild ponies on the green every day. Central for lots of attractions but the cottage was lovely and cosy to stay in when the weather wasn't fit to go out."
"This was our first visit to Norfolk and what a lovely surprise. We were greeted by Mr and Mrs Smith, the owners, who were very welcoming upon our arrival. They were more than willing to discuss the local attractions and places to visit. There was a very comprehensive and helpful selection of essential items i.e. tea, coffee, spread, milk cereals, which meant we could have a nice cuppa upon arrival. The evening sunsets were stunning. Good value for money. Would recommend."
"Stayed here in early December. Heating was very good as the weather was cold, The best equipped kitchen of all of the cottages we have stayed in. Owners there if needed but did not interfere with stay. Pub in the village very welcoming. If you have time walk to the common to see the wild ponies. Ok for 2 people snug for 4.Would be great sitting in the garden overlooking the fields during the summer.Would use again when next in area"
"La Petite Maison cottage in Litcham, Norfolk is very well appointed and perfect for 2 people and a dog. The owner is a lovely person and she was most helpful and gave us a nice welcome pack. The cottage had the best television we have ever had in a rental property and the lounge and bedroom were spacious. The bathroom had a nice shower room and all in all the property got top marks from us. The village is OK with a pub, chip shop and store. Also there is a nice common to walk the dog without the need to drive if you don`t feel like it. The surrounding area is interesting but very flat of course. The sea side towns are old fashioned but still very attractive. Plenty of walks and it is a bird watchers paradise. We particularly enjoyed Sandringham and Overstrand."
"5 Star hosts and accomodation. I would recommend this cosy cottage."
"This was our first visit to the area, and Norfolk and it was absolutely fantastic. The owners received us warmly and left us a welcome pack ( essentails) to get the week off to a great start.
