A peaceful, pretty village in the heart of Norfolk countryside, with a traditional village green and a cosy local inn. With a mixture of period cottages and houses in the local area, the village is shadowed by the magnificent profile of Oxborough Hall, a 15th century National Trust property. Visitors will delight in the extensive grounds, including the surrounding moat with plentiful fish to view. With such an array of things to see and do in the surrounding area, Oxborough is a wonderful holiday base, all year round.
Reviews
"Our first time at this cottage - and we will be back. Very spacious with everything we could need. Oxborough itself is interesting with National Trust Oxburgh Hall right on the doorstep - and plenty of pleasant walks. All-in-all an excellent holiday rental."
"We stayed at number 28 for four nights recently. Overall our experience was good. The cottage had a good modern kitchen with plenty of everything one would need for dining in. (If you like a glass with dinner..there is the Bedingfield Arms 2 minutes up the lane..otherwise nowhere else near for food...). There are storage heaters in the rooms as well as the log burner, the weather was good but a couple of nights we needed to use the heater in the bedroom, not much sun apart from the back bedroom and the kitchen to warm the house. The beds were very comfortable, we slept well, the only noise the birds in the morning. Very quiet and peaceful. The bathroom has a bath with shower over (worked well) a washbasin and toilet. All very clean. There is a separate toilet with a small hand basin. Not two bathrooms as I am sure is stated in the write up. The water has to be turned on on arrival, the instructions are there and it is easy to do. Turned off when you leave. We had no problem with the hot water. The garden is very private, plenty of plants and trees, and a lawn and paved patio, small but ok for enjoying an outdoor meal and a glass or two. French doors lead out from the kitchen to the garden. Every evening we enjoyed the garden. However the only garden furniture on our visit were two chairs, no table. The living room is cosy with plenty of furniture. As a couple overall we enjoyed our stay, perfect quite place to recharge the batteries and visiting all this part of the county has to offer. Sandringham is around 40 minutes away, an enjoyable drive. The Bedingfield Arms as stated earlier is around 2 minutes away, the meals are fine, although the service is a little slow. The cottage has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. Our opinion is that number 28 is more suitable for adults than families."
