The small town of St. Clears in Carmarthenshire is situated between the town of Carmarthen, and the coastal Pembrokeshire resorts. St. Clears has a number of shops and eateries, and holds a number of activities and festivals throughout the year. In the area around St. Clears, there are good walking, fishing and golf at Heron's Brook, children's activities at Folly Farm, and family fun at Oakwood Theme Park. Reviews
"I'm very dissapointed and not recommend. Reasons: 1) No blinds in the skylights in both bedrooms - I could not sleep and this is why we left day early. When I asked the owner via text message about the blinds that was her reply: "No I'm afraid not but if you want please feel free to put some black bin bags over them " 2) Owner's dogs , four of them including Staffordshire Bull Terrier with no muzzle. All dogs roaming free all day long. Unfortunately I can't add photos here but I will on Trip Advisor. Dogs poop not collected - I had to ring Sykes to address this. I have seen the owner once collecting poop and that was after my phone call. Dogs entering our cottage not encouraged so had to keep the door closed. I worried about the dogs as one of the reviews on Sykes dated in April this year says that the owner's dog bitten someone. 3) No recycling 4) Not suitable for kids - health and safety issues 5) In need of good clean and repair majnor issues. Stains on leather sofa. Positives: 1) Great shower room/ wet room 2) Secluded but with easy access to other artactions/places 3) Welcome pack - nice wine, milk in the fridge and butter. 4) Well supplied with washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, tea, coffee etc"
"Just had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful cottage during Half Term. I would strongly recommend this cottage to any families looking to visit Pembrokeshire, not just because of the wonderful owners Gareth and Penny, but the location, quality of the accommodation and amenities. The dogs that belong to the owners played with the kids every day, and they especially liked the Horses and Cow that also live on site. All in all from the bottle of wine and cake that you get when you arrive, to the cleanliness and location this is a must for any families looking for a good base to explore Pembrokeshire. We will return again... 10/10"
