"The Smithy was in a wonderful location and was very well equipped - literally every utensil/bowl we wondered about whilst preparing meals was in the kitchen somewhere! A welcome gift of wine and biscuits were very much appreciated. There was a shower in place of the advertised bath which was very nice indeed. The indoor pool proved popular with my granddaughter as did the play area and crazy golf. The views as you BBQ are stunning. The doors sat in the front garden outside the conservatory windows were not such a good view - we couldn't decide if they were from The Smithy or the cottage next door as they were in between both. However, we felt that they shouldn't have been left like that for guests to look out on - they were there when we arrived and were still there when we left! Even if they were from next door I would insist on them being moved if I owned The Smithy. With such a well-equipped cottage it was disappointing for it to let guests down in a couple of areas. Pillows were very poor - if we visited again it would be with our own pillows. The twin beds and single bed had very thin mattresses which were not conducive to a good nights sleep for adults. It may be OK for children as they are lighter but the description does not say they are beds for children so you would expect the mattresses to be comfortable enough for adults. The place mats in the dining area were very old and worn - why would you not renew such small items annually to uphold the quality of the cottage overall? Would we visit again? Yes, with, as previously stated, our own pillows coupled with foam mattress toppers!"

"We have just had a lovely week away staying in The Smithy. On arrival the house was warm and welcoming, with not only tea, coffee and milk in the fridge, but also an Easter Egg and a nice bottle of wine on the side! The Smithy is cosy but clean, comfortable and very well equipped - iron, DVDs, games, tennis rackets etc. The highlight for the children was the pool which is warm and well maintained. The children's outdoor play equipment looks fairly new and, together with plenty of space to run around, amused them well when the weather was kind enough for them to play out. The grounds of the holiday village were well maintained. There are many things to do in the local area, and after a week we felt we had only scratched the surface of what was on offer. The coastline is beautiful and Folly Farm well worth a visit (although be aware that the fair ground rides are extra); the Heatherton World of Adventure also went down well. Food at the local Parsonnage Inn was delicious, but best to book as we were lucky to get a table. This week has definitely gone down as one of our most successful holidays; the children are begging to visit again!"
