The market town of Pocklington rests at the foot of the Yorkshire Wolds in the Vale of York. Best known for its Burnby Hall Gardens - 8 acres of gardens with two large lakes. There are several world famous attractions nearby - majestic Castle Howard, Sledmere House, and of course the historic city of York. The town also boasts a leisure centre offering a wide range of sports, a Civic Centre and the Pocklington Arts Centre.

"If you are looking for property near York then this is ideal. Just short trip in car to a park and ride and you are in York in about 10 minutes on a very reliable, regular bus service. Plenty of space, beautifully equipped and pet friendly in very quiet location. Really recommend."
"We were looking for somewhere to stay near York, and found The Stable in Yapham. It was very good value, so we were expecting fairly basic accommodation. On arrival , we opened the front door and were really impressed. The Stable has everything you would need. The kitchen is very well equipped - Electric hob & oven / grill, fridge / freezer, washing machine & dryer. TV with Freeview & DVD, comfy sofa & armchair to unwind after exploring all that Yorkshire has to offer. For those that need connectivity, The Stable has reliable wifi. The Stable is very clean, and although it is pet friendly, there's no evidence of pets having been in the property. The owner couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. While we were there, we booked a discount ticket for the NYMR on the internet, then after completing the transaction, we found that we would need to print the ticket, and having contacted the owner, he was more than happy for us to drop by and use his own printer. I would highly recommend The Stable, for comfort, convenience, cleanliness & value. There's also a great view from the back of the property."
