The quaint, coastal village of Pentewan is set back from the sandy expanse of Pentewan Beach and boasts a shop and pub, making this a wonderful location for a family day out. Passing through the village is a fascinating coastal path which climbs up the cliffside towards Mevagissey and offers incredible views across the bay toward Devon in the far distance. Good cycle paths also pass close by, whilst the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a short walk away. Also in the near vicinity is Charlestown harbour - a scenic and historic place to visit. Nearby Mevagissey also offers visitors the chance to see a local fishing village with numerous restaurants serving fresh harbour fish, or alternatively, the Eden Project is just a short drive away.
Reviews
"Excellent facilities and walking from the door- met with the best welcome pack of goodies in all my years of self catering and very friendly owners. Beautifully appointed and maintained -we had a great week exploring this part of the coast and will definitely go back-a week was not enough"
"Lovely cottage well equipped , with a wonderful welcome from the owners. The cream tea and welcome pack was a treat after a long journey. A good base for visiting ; the Eden project, The Lost Gardens , Fowey, Charles Town and we enjoyed wonderful walks from the cottage to Mevagissy along the coastal path."
"Warm welcome by owner to this cosy cottage Cream tea and welcome groceries supplied on arrival. well presented property with open fire which we loved. Slight disadvantages were steep staircase, tight parking and conservatory, with extreme temperatures, as dining room. Plenty of coastal venues to visit in the area. We were very pleased with the property and our very hospitable hosts."
"Despite the weather we had a super break. The cottage proved an ideal centre to explore the region. It was warm and cosy and tastefully decorated. The owners were friendly and helpful and had left a lovely cream tea to welcome us on our arrival. Top marks for this holiday let!"
"The cottage was clean and comfortable. Well equipped for a family. The owners were friendly and helpful, particularly when our car broke down. The location of the cottage is good for walking and cycling. The beach at Pentewan is nice and clean. Would also recommend the Ship Inn at Pentewan."

The beautiful gardens are shared with the owners neighbouring house. Good location near to lot of attractions including Lost Gardens of Heligan. Close to beach at Pentewan - supermarket and shops 3 miles. Ideal base for this area of Cornwall."

"The Coachmans Cottage is hidden from the road up a track. When you turn into the drive you are greeted by the most superb cottage, magnificent gardens, and lovely friendly owners and their dog Holly. This was our 2nd visit to Coachmans Cottage. We hope to visit again. Its a perfect location for exploring the local area, and to sit in the garden after a day out enjoying the area is just so relaxing. There is nothing more you could want from this cottage, beautifully presented, clean and welcoming, and a lovely cream tea waiting for you in the kitchen. Great value for money. Janet and Roger Eden and Mrs June Roberts."
"Excellent cottage in a wonderful part of the country."
"Apart from the lovely cottage, the extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the owners made this a really delightful holiday."
"I lovely welcome from the owners whose own house is right next door. Everything you would want a holiday home to be. Very generous welcome pack. Owners more than happy to help with any requests and will tell you all the local places to visit. Very quiet location but close to good roads Would definately return."
"Nice cottage in beautiful surroundings. Friendly welcome by the owners. Very much recommended!"
"The cottage is in an excellent position for touring Cornwall, being half way between Plymouth an d Penzance. It,s in a very quiet area. Some good walks straight from the property. The owners who live next door could not have been nicer, or more accommodating. The cottage itself is very well maintained and equipped. The only reservasion I would have is that if you have elderly or infirmed members of the family the bathroom which is downstairs is a bit of a concern for night time visits. Apart from this we cannot recommend this cottage highly enough."
"The first thing that struck us was the genuine way in which we were welcomed and the great kindness of Muriel and Dave throughout our stay. The facilities were comparable with one's own home while the area offers intresting walks and beautiful scenery. We will certainly return."
"The service was very good, the accommodation was clean, cosy, comfortable and well equipped. The local was ideal for touring Cornwall and its varied tourist attractions. The owners were very hospitable and friendly, nothing was a problem. The only downside was there was limited car parking. But other than that we had a fantastic holiday."
