In a truly idyllic position and in the heart of the beautiful unspoilt countryside of the Lleyn Peninsula, lies the 100-acre estate of Talhenbont. Full of immaculate cottages that have been thoughtfully renovated to the highest standards, this is one of the finest self catering retreats in Wales. With range of on-site amenities, such as an all weather tennis court, outdoor chess, numerous pet animals and "The Quackery" - which houses a great variety of birds - guests will be spoiled for choice before even leaving the estate. There are a number of great activities outside of Talhenbont, however, including a one and a half mile stretch of river which provides excellent walks and safe areas for children to play or paddle. This river has also been made a designated habitat for otters and offers salmon and sea trout fishing. In addition the area offers castles, beaches, golf courses and the Snowdonia National Park.
Reviews
"We had a very good time at the hunting lodge. It is located in a beautiful setting. The owners are friendly and helpful, offering us access to the large property which has a tennis court, gardens and the beautiful 'Quackery'. The bathrooms were a bit dated but overall we would recommend the Hunting Lodge. I would recommend that if you are staying at this property, you bring with you absolutely everything you need (Food including the basics, toiletries, towels). Don't expect to find anything at the cottage. This is not a criticism, just a heads up."
"We've stayed in autumn and springtime and had a wonderful break both times. In autumn there was a eery atmosphere in the grounds especially when foggy and the unusual gardens and ghost stories added to the ambience. In springtime it was beautiful with bluebells by the river and our children helped feed the lambs. A really unique place to stay and definitely full of character. Roger is so friendly and helpful too."
"The lodge had plenty of room for a large family. It was warm, clean and really interesting. The owners were nearby and very welcoming. And the lodge was well placed to visit all the North West Wales attractions, especially Criccieth."
