Hebden Bridge is a small town in the Pennines, in the Calderdale area. The Rochdale canal runs through the town, which is a great base for enjoying the excellent walking on offer on the nearby Pennine Way, NT Hardcastle Crags and over the moors to Haworth, famed for its associations with the literary Bronte sisters. Visit Skipton town, the Gateway to the Dales, or the Eureka Museum in Halifax, or simply settle in to watch the steam trains on the Worth Valley Railway. A terrific base for this varied part of Yorkshire.
Reviews
"This cottage actually has four bedrooms rather than the three that were advertised and they are all ensuite. This was a lovely surprise as I was staying with my son and three of his friends so the extra space was useful. The cottage is well equipped and lovely. The evening sun falls on the garden area and it is a lovely place for a barbecue or just to sit with a cup of tea. The neighbours, including the little Yorkshire terriers are lovely and friendly. It was a great place to stay and would recommend it to anyone with a family. Although it is in the middle of nowhere there is a little lane leading down to the town which only takes five minutes to walk."
"This was such a perfect cottage. Everything you could think of. Andy and Chris (owners) couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, also Chris's dad - a lovely gentleman. George and Mollie coming to see us each day made it feel like home as we were missing our dog and cats. I wish I could move in for ever I felt so at home. The cottage is a credit to them both. Will come again for sure."
"Stables Cottage is a beautiful old barn that has been tastefully modernised whilst retaining lots of character. The accommodation is light, bright and airy and spacious. The open plan kitchen - lounge is a lovely comfortable room for relaxing ,with a wood burner for chilly evenings, the large kitchen area is very well equipped and a breakfast bar divides the two areas. There is a separate dining room too. One of the en -suite bedrooms (a single) is downstairs - good if anyone has a problem with stairs. Upstairs there are in fact three more ( not two more as advertised) bedrooms, all en suite. The master is a lovely room with a very nice bathroom (bath with shower attachment). There is a single room and a twin room both with good shower rooms. Apart from the master the bedrooms aren`t huge but they all have storage space, a T.V. and are warm and comfortable. Outside there is plenty of parking space and two separate sitting out areas - one at the side of the cottage which is overlooked by the owners cottage and another more private area at the rear . The owners are very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They run an Equestrian Centre so there are horses passing by the cottage and the stables are very near but if you aren`t interested in horses and don`t want to use the facilities it really doesn`t matter. Although there aren`t particularly good views from inside the cottage once outside the views in both directions are stunning. The property is set above the town of Todmorden and in fact it`s a 10 - 15 minute walk down to the town - it does take longer on the way back as it`s quite a steep path back up! There are plenty of other walks from the cottage too and the location is great as there are many interesting places to visit in this part of Yorkshire, and wherever you go you are surrounded by beautiful scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Stables Cottage and would really recommend it for couples or for a family."
"t the top of the hill in front of the equestrian centre where the cottages is located. We have a 2 year old who was fascinated with rare breed sheep and all the very well kept horses. The cottage is located in the hills above Todmorden and is ideally located for many of the places we wanted to visit. There is also a good pub within walking distance and plenty of others nearby. Cottage is very well equipped and the large full fruit bowl and wood starter pack (for the log burner) along with some milk in the fridge were all very welcome additions. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage for a first class holiday. Many thanks :)"
"We stayed @ Stables Cottage Hebden Bridge & all I can say they excelled themselves again. From the greeting of the owners plus all the advice on the area plus a great welcome pack on arrival & the house itself was perfect. There was also an added bonus of a wonderful Local just 15 Mins walk serving really good food & Ale plus interesting places to visit who could ask for more. Our american friend was also very impressed. So who could have asked for more."
"This is a lovely cottage and the owners have thought of pretty much everything, the tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were very welcomed after a six hour car ride! Staying over October half term we thought it might be a bit on the cold side in Yorkshire however this cottage was lovely and warm. The kitchen was very well equipped, my 8 year old was very impressed with the pizza cutter!! The owners are very friendly and it was good to be able to look around the stables and see the horses. Great walks a straight out of the door and a friendly local pub within a ten minute walk. Take a torch though as it can be a dark walk back!! Overall a lovely clean, comfortable cottage which we hope to return to in the future."
"This was an excellent cottage which was very well equipped. It was an excellent location for both the Pennine Way and also the town of Todmorden which was within walking distance although it was a steep climb back! The Shepherds Rest pub was also within walking distance and this is a great pub with very good food. This cottage is based in Todmorden rather than Hebden Bridge. Todmorden is a very pleasant town."
"This is the best cottage we have stayed in , so clean, so well laid out, so comfy and the views out of the hot tub fantastic, Hebden Bridge is very nice and a 20 minuet walk away"
"Fabulous cottage in a wonderful location. Service very warm and friendly - made us feel very welcome. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a bowl of fruit was waiting for us on arrival - wonderful gesture, just what you need after a long journey. All four bedrooms were en-suite and the master bedroom was luxurious. Pub located fairly close and the local town wasn't too far away. Have already booked this cottage for our holiday next year."
"A well furnished and kitted house. A welcome pack and a bowl of fresh fruit on arrival. Four bedrooms each with en suite. Owners very welcoming and helpful. Our handicapped son enjoyed the horses and we enjoyed the easy access to the country side. Good meals in local pubs."
