"Unfortunately when we pulled up to the cottage the outside was dirty, quite a lot of bird mess on windows and outside bench. Entering the cottage it was clear no one had stayed there for a long time, lots of cobwebs in every room even over the kitchen utensils, I cleaned most of it myself. Lights in kitchen and main bathroom very dim. Dishwasher broke on second day and not repaired. As for the garden- it was a nice space but yet again furniture was covered in bird muck which was frustrating, if you have paying guests and your spec says garden furniture surely you would clean it??!!"

"We spent a week at Rhiwlas in late October as our nephew was getting married in Bala and had the reception at the nearby Lake Vyrnwy hotel. We took full advantage of the location to do some touring around. The mountain road to Bala from the North West corner of the lake is an absolutely spectacular run - just hope no-one comes to meet you! The cottage easily coped with the demands of six adults and three infants (only one mobile thank goodness)."

"Very friendly hosts, the children played cricket every evening with the son of the house :-)! Beautiful place and surroundings, perhaps a bit out of the way for what we had planned to see, so we drove a lot. But we had wonderful weather which helped :-). I would definitely recommend a stay here. It was a very relaxing place, would love to come back again!!"
