Holy Island sits on the northwest tip of Wales. Trearddur Bay is situated on the west coast of the island, facing Dublin - which can be visited by ferry. With sandy beaches having achieved the much-coveted Blue Flag, it is no surprise that this part of Wales is a big draw for wind-surfers, sea-kayakers and boat enthusiasts alike. Those interested in nature will enjoy exploring the rocky coves and abundant rock pools or taking a trip to the RSPB reserve at the South Stack Lighthouse. The cliffs that line the coast lie relatively low and offer spectacular views of the locality. While Trearddur Bay has a number of shops and pubs, further amenities can be found in nearby Holyhead, including the ferry to Dublin.

"We have just arrived back from a week at Porth House In Treardur Bay, to say we have loved it is a understatement!! The house is beautiful, everything we needed was there, the welcome pack was lovely and the views just spectacular!!!! We are so relaxed, and I had the most relaxed birthday I have ever had. The spa pool was nice after a days exploring and there is so much to explore in the area and surroundings. We have just booked again for next year the week after my birthday this time!!!"

"We've just returned from a relaxing week at Porth House. I loved the quiet location and the fantastic views from the balcony. The house is clean and well equipped and the spa pool and sauna are great to come back to after a day out walking. The small beach over the road was perfect for a pleasant stroll in the evening. There was a folder with menus from recommended restaurants in the area which we found useful, and major supermarkets are a short drive away in Holyhead."

"We had a week's stay in September at the lovely Porth House. When we arrived the house was warm and toasty and we had a lovely welcome pack waiting for us. The house is located in a stunning spot, with the sea a stone's throw away. Most evenings it was mild enough to have the balcony door open to enjoy the sound of the sea from the lounge. We managed to have a log fire the night before we left, the rest of the week was too warm for one. It was so homely! I have to be honest the jacuzzi and sauna really helped us decide to stay at Porth House and we were not disappointed! The jacuzzi is HUGE! So relaxing to spend time in there after a day exploring the stunning surrounding area in a beautiful part of Wales. The owners of this beautiful house have really thought of everything. If you like cooking you will find a very well equipped kitchen. The attention to detail is impressive from a golf umbrella in case it rains to a picnic basket if you want to dine al fresco! It is tastefully decorated and a home from home (with a better view!). We have already recommended the Porth House to a friend we were that impressed. This was our first visit but not our last. Thank you Sandra for a great week in your gorgeous house."

"Writing this review from the lounge of porth house looking out at the mesmerising sea view and sunset over the bay, we wish we lived here. Daughter and grandchildren stayed over at weekend and now we have the place to ourselves. All have enjoyed the spacious jacuzzi with room for the children to float around in. ( I found the steep step between the seat and floor of the pool difficult due to my arthritic knee but it was worth it for the hydrotherapy.) The sauna is lovely and the adjoining walk in double shower room is huge. The master bedroom is large with a bay view and lovely ensuite shower room. All mod cons including wifi complete this perfect holiday home from home. The photos say it all."

"Stayed at this cottage over the Christmas break, however the break was ruined due to power cuts. Did make the owner aware of a few suggestions to improve stay should a power cut occur again as power failures can happen for a number of reasons not just bad weather which no one can predict. Should have been emergency lighting in the basement as it was very dangerous down there, which I was with two young children had to feel our way out. So back up lighting or at the very least torches on each level of the house and a camping stove to at least boil a kettle. The care taker was not there on arrival and we feel to get the best out the house a set of instructions should be available if you aren't going be greeted when arriving. Also just to make people aware that we booked though skye cottages and the after care has been appalling , not to say the advertising of this property is not correct it states a hot tub, it is actually a plunge pool so therefore not hot as we were hoping for. The house is in a fantastic location however and apart from lack of emergency supplies is very well equipped. The views from the lounge are spectacular, and we were considering the larger next door premises for family get together but after the lack of dealing with our issues raised in January and still waiting a reply in march. Will look elsewhere , such a shame people don't take customers complaints into consideration any more."

"We had a wonderful week in anglesey, Porth House was everything and more than described on the website. An upside down house to take in the spectacular views. The bubble pool was a bonus great after the sauna to cool down. Visited the local pub/restaurant within easy walking distance friendly staff and good food. Other restaurants within a short car ride."

"What a great holiday my family and I have just enjoyed at 'Porth House' in Trearddur Bay in Anglesey. Right opposite a clean safe beach with fun to be had for our four year old and great fishing for us both. The accommodation itself was fantastic, like a ski chalet in its fixtures and fittings but with absolutely every item of crockery and cook-wear you could require for catering for a family! The Jacuzzi (massive!) and sauna were such a luxurious addition but made the week in this beautiful house feel oh so special. We enjoyed glorious sunsets, and the best accommodation in a fabulous location."

"Spent a brilliant week here. Everything in this let was fabulous. Lovely open plan living, dining and kitchen are with superb view of the beach. Master bedroom was huge and the other 2 bedrooms a good size. Utility room very useful as the weather was not very good whilst we were there. Jacuzzi and Sauna were well used!! Would DEFINATELY recommend this beautiful house to anyone for a holiday in this lovely part of the world."

"This cottage is situated in the most beautiful position overlooking a quiet cove area of Trearddur Bay beach. We found the cottage to be well maintained and very clean with excellent facilities. Trearddur Bay itself provides a number of pubs/hotels with really good food facilities. Overall an excellent holiday for us."
