Dating back to Saxon times, Hereford is home to a variety of building styles from nearly every historic era and is famous for its 'Black and White' villages, and is well known as a cider producing town. Shropshire, Worcestershire and The Cotswolds are all nearby and offer plenty of visitor attractions. The Cathedral houses the 'chained library', full of 1500 rare and ancient books, and the Mappa Mundi, the largest and most intricate surviving pre-15th Century map. Leominster, with its half-timbered houses and overhanging medieval buildings, is nearby, and the breathtaking beauty of the rocky outcrop of Symonds Yat on the River Wye offers incredible views and the possibility of rare peregrine falcon sightings.
Reviews
"This house is spacious & well decorated, there is plenty of room for at least 12 people, though there is only one twin room. Most rooms are better than they look in the pictures & the garden is attractive & away from the road, though you can hear traffic as the house is on a main road. The kitchen is slightly awkwardly designed but clean & modern. Bring your own covered serving dishes/ oven ware & kitchen scissors/ vegetable knives, but otherwise well equipped. Owners live next door but are not intrusive & are on hand for any small issues that come up. There is lots to see & do in the area, especially if you like walking. Recommend Hereford Cathedral & Mappa Mandi, Eastnor Castle & Hay ( especially the festival!) ."
"We have just returned from having half term at this beautiful house. Our party consisted of 3 families. The kids loved the games room in the basement. There were also ample board games in other rooms and a wii. The kitchen seemed to be the meeting point for the adults with a lovely snug one side of the kitchen, a conservatory the other side and it lead into a utility from the next entrance. Each room led off into more 'secret rooms'. There were 12 of us in our party (6 teenagers, 6 adults) and we had plenty of space. Hereford City Centre is a 30 minute walk away and there are plenty of beautiful places to visit within 10-20 minutes drive. Ample parking for 3 vehicles. The owners were very attentive to a query we had. We will definitely visit again. The hot tub was enjoyed by all."
"Tupsley house was perfect for our weekend reunion-loads of space, clean and the hot tub was great! Would definitely recommend"
"Located 3k north of the City Centre with countryside adjacent. The 6 bedrooms are all doubles so it does sleep 12 without someone on the sofa!. 3 bathrooms with 2 more toilets. At ground level you have 2 lounges, a games room with TV., A Cellar fitted out as a home cinema , a superbly fitted Kitchen/diner with seating for 12, and a utilities room with all the gear. The Hot-Tub is just the icing on the cake!! Get a group together , and just book this with complete confidence that your choice will offer you a great location to visit Hereford and the Wye Valley area, plus an ideal place to return to each night. Did I mention that directly across the main road is a very friendly( but Quiet) Pub serving very friendly portions at a very friendly price, Another large lounge sofa wouldn't go amiss but enjoy the welcome."
"Tupsley House was great. Plenty of space to get together, or go somewhere for peace. Owners were friendly and helpful. House well maintained and clean. It is also well equipped. It did take slightly longer than the 20 minutes the guest book stated to walk to Hereford city centre, but we needed the fresh air. Hot tub was hit with everyone, but be careful on the decking, it gets sloppy when wet. Pub over the road offers a good choice of food, beer isn't bad either."
"Big house, spent the first day getting lost. Plenty of room for a large family with a few quiet snug areas to read etc. Large garden has a large decked area with wooden table and chairs, a smallish bbq and lovely hot tub. Owners live next door but are discreet, unless they need access to the shed when they enter the garden unannounced! Beds are quite firm but comfortable. Spent a lot of time in the cellar where there is a small snooker table and cinema room with projector and surround sound. Also a large collection of dvd's. Wifi is present but has a very slow connection. Cock of Tupsley over the road, nice pub, good beer and food, all main meals are 2 for 1. Crown and Anchor 1 mile walk, also very nice, excellent food. Had a great week and recommend this property for a large family."
"This house is just great! With it's 3 living rooms, two tv's, wii, great enclosed garden and two conservatories there is loads of space for the kids to play and for the adults to escape! The house is well equipped with everything you need including two dishwashers and two refrigerators! The bedrooms are comfortable and the 3 bathrooms made our life so much easier. We were 6 adults and 5 children under the age of 5. We had a very easy and relaxing week. The house is also in a great location. It's an easy drive into town and there is a child friendly pub over the road (with a children's play area). The hot tub was a lovely way to end our evenings after the kids had gone to bed. I highly recommend this house for any families or friends to get together. Oh, and parking is easy too, with 3 parking spaces designated for Tupsley House (the owners live next door on the same plot of land - they were very welcoming)."
"big well maintained and cleaned house. Lots of facilities. Pool and cinema room were very appreciated. Big kitchen. Lots of reception rooms to get away from everyone else in. Nice big garden with a hot tub. The owners are very friendly, helpful and approachable. Excellent venue and I hope we get to go back. Thanks for a good stay."
"Tupsley House has everything you could need for a relaxing break. We loved the hot tub and the cinema room. Very comfy beds with beautiful Egyptian cotton bedding. Very spacious but homely at the same time. Beautifully maintained house, very clean. The surrounding area is beautiful and a trip to Hay on Wye during their festival was a bonus."
"The house is lovely with numerous bedrooms and plenty of sitting rooms! The hot tub is great and the house is definitely worth considering. Only issue I would say is its not necessarily hugely toddler friendly but some of that is down to the size of the house. Hereford itself is a nice little town to wander around but the soft play centre is not great and there is only one. Perrygrove was definitely worth a visit. All in all a very nice property in a good area - well worth it and will definitely consider going back."
"Tupsley house has been beyond our expectations. it is a beautiful house with everything you need for a great stay. lots of different living areas inside for the various family members who ranged from 87 down to 3 years. Great kitchen with enough space for us all to eat together. The garden has been perfect for the children to play in and for grown ups to relax in the hot tub. The 'cinema' and snooker table in the cellar was perfect for the children and the games room was well used too. Scott and Kate are fantastic hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would all highly recommend Tupsley House and hope to return for another stay in the near future."
"Tupsley House is a beautiful, spacious property with a great hot tub, decked outdoor eating area, fab kitchen, large dining space and plenty of room for a big group. We were a group of nine and had plenty of space, comfortable bedrooms and a great kitchen that had plenty of glasses, crockery etc. little touches and friendly service made the stay even better. Would thoroughly recommend."
