Llanberis is situated right at the base of Mount Snowdon and attracts hardy walkers and climbers throughout the year. This feature is enhanced by a number of festivals and celebrations all year round, such as the Snowdon Race in July and the Snowdonia Marathon in October. As part of the Snowdonia National Park, Llanberis is surrounded by beautiful scenery, including two lakes, Llyn Padarn and Llyn Peris, which are a great attraction for wildlife enthusiasts, walkers and ornithologists alike. If climbing Snowdon sounds too much like hard work, there is always the option provided by the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Alternatively, if you prefer to remain at ground level, Llanberis is well served by a variety of restaurants, pubs and shops.
Reviews
"Booked for an extended family reunion weekend Halford Hill was just perfect - with seven bedrooms and accomodation on four floors there was plenty of space for everyone and never a sense of being cramped. The dining room with long table for big family meal worked well and welcoming touches like milk in the fridge, flowers and a loaf of Bara Brith were much appreciated. With a group ranging from 11 months old to 60+ the activities on offer in Llanberis and the surrounding area were plentiful; we just wished that we had longer. The house was well equipped and some of our party took advantage of the sauna which they considered a real bonus. The weather was stunning therefore we had no need of the wood-burning stove but wood was provided; the lounge(s) were comfortable and cosy with plentiful seating for all. Provision of bedding, cot and high chair was helpful too - all in all a great house for a large family group weekend!"
"We stayed at the house for new year. Was great for the amount of people. House is in great condition. The location is great for shops, restaurants, walks and surrounding attractions. Only complaint was lack of instruction about heating, recycling collection etc. A customer handbook would be useful. Also shame about lack of garden space. The side of the house would make a lovely patio area if it was tidied up and fenced. Would be helpful if you have a dog. Other little things such as a dvd player in the snug would of been helpful for the kids and positioning of mirrors in bedrooms could be improved ie on full height walls near plugs ,some kitchen equipment needed replacing, just constructive criticism, overall a great holiday and have recommended "
"We Stayed in Halford Hill in October 2013. there were 15 adults and we had a fantastic time. everything we needed was provided included pots and pans, cutlery and crockery. it is in a great location. with the national slate museum only 10-15 minutes walk and the train to Snowdon around the same. We may be going back this year but if not we definitely will be in the future. Thanks so much"
"This was booked for a weekend to celebrate special birthdays of several work colleagues. We needed somewhere large enough to accomodate 12+ an within easy travelling distance of Liverpool. I must say when I looked at the website after it been booked I felt a little disappointed as it is so plain to look at and not quite the country retreat I had anticipated - the furnishings also looked a bit basic! However I was pleasantly suprised as on arrival we were greeted with the smell of new carpets! In fact the whole house had had a makeover since a fire in May 2012 and the website is not updated even now, The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and beds are comfortable. It was lovely and warm and the cooking facilities were great for a big Christmas dinner! Even the sun shone for our November walk! Great for a big party!"
"Huge property fully equipped with absolutely everything you could possibly need for your stay. Everywhere was lovely and clean, there wasn't a single complaint from anyone in my party of 17, we all agreed we would return. Plenty of amenities nearby, we used the Co-op, the pubs and the local Indian take away. Absolutely beautiful place for walking. Spot on, thanks."
"The house was perfect for our family break and was an ideal location for the path up Snowdon. The bathrooms were in need of renovation but otherwise it was clean, comfortable and warm. Lots of pubs and restaurants nearby and the owner was very friendly. Would recommend although not suitable for those with mobility difficulties as there are 3 flights of stairs."
