Reviews
"We have lost count how many times we have stayed here but this time was no different. The lodge was just as good as it always has been it is always clean and tidy ready for when we arrive. I am sure the views get better each time we visit. The hot tub is great and even in the hot weather we got a lot of use out of it. The lodge itself has everything you would need for a break and is plenty big enough to sleep 6. Whether eating out or wanting to cook in, this lodge gives you the opportunity to do both. There is a nice charcoal BBQ on the decking area which is great to make use of during the long summer evenings. There are two good size double bedrooms and the en suite is especially handy when trying to get ready at the same time as the other half! The twin room is very handy if taking the kids or if like us and take 6 months worth of clothes for a midweek short break. The location of the lodge is perfectly tucked away on an end making the lodge and the decking area very private. It has enough space outside the lodge for at least two cars if needed. The park has everything you need and we especially get the use of the enclosed dog field where our two pooches love to play with the ball. The Haybarn pub on site is great, we have only had snacks/nibbles in there but i have heard the main meals are nice and the staff are very friendly. The beer Garden has some great views whilst enjoying a cold one after a days walking. Also within Walking distance of the lodge are The Queens Head and the Mortal Man. Both do great food and very friendly. I could talk for a lot longer about our stay but overall I would recommend this lodge for anyone wanting a get away in the Lake district. Whatever you want out of your break this is a perfect place to stay. We cant wait to return (hopefully before the year is out)."
"A home from home well equipped lodge in beautiful surroundinings. The lodge is placed in a lovely private spot of Limefit Park. The Hot tub is an added benefit and a great end to a busy day. Lots to do in the surrounding areas and excellent location for our cocker spaniels and the family. This was our fifth visit and we will definitely want to visit again."
"Wonderful location and useful well stocked small shop on site. Really enjoyed the hot tub. The interior did not live up to expectations particular the master bedroom and ensuite which was not particularly clean, and there was quite alot of mould in the shower cubicle and bathroom. The headboard had a lot of dust on it and the duvet had some heavy staining. The property was in need of a deep clean, it was a shame as it obviously was well maintained previously. There were 6 of us in the property- the electric went off twice during our week stay this according to the owners manual happens occasionally when all appliances are on."
"Just had a week at wansfell view on the limefitt park holiday resort in troutbeck near Windermere & what a week, the lodge is first class & in a superb location the views from the park are stunning especially by the kids play area. The hot tub got a lot of use. The park is kept spotless & staff are helpful & friendly didn`t try the on site bar but looked very nice with large beer garden. Plenty of walks in area some starting on site. Ideal for familys or anyone wanting a quiet retreat."
"I arrived to typical lake district weather however the lodge provided a nice warm retreat for me and my family to relax dry out and warm up! When the weather brightened up there was plenty of room for the kids to play inside and out. Overall a lovely clean well equipped lodge that I would recommend to anyone looking for a lake district break!"
