"We have stayed in this cosy cottage a couple of times before with our 2 terriers & find it perfect every time The cottage is small but perfectly formed with everything in it you need for a self catering holiday, it's spotlessly clean & well maintained We particularly like it as there is a fenced patio area so the dogs can go out safely, & a grassed area beyond the patio where they can go for the necessary comfort break There is off road parking & your vehicle is parked behind a large gate Despite the cottages being sandwiched between the gulf garage & the Lindisfarne Inn there is no disturbance from either. The inn is handy for a teatime drink, the food is ok but expensive for what you get, & the garage is handy for anything you might have forgotten The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring beautiful Northumberland both on the doorstep & beyond, & for long dog walks on endless deserted beaches. Heaven!"

"This is our third stay at the lovely cottage in a superb location for this area of Northumberland , log fire dog friendly , private parking, garden with picnic table, modern and clean accommodation , great little pub next door if you want to eat out there is also a new cafe/diner across the yard if you want a good breakfast . The owner lives next door so if you want any local information he is the one to ask"

"This is the second time in 2 years me and my wife and 2 dogs we have stayed at Cuthbert's Cottage and we love it , its in a great location for the Northumberland coast easy drive to all the main areas and packed full of great walks with the best beaches anywhere, The cottage is a good size and pet friendly, everything you need is catered for even a secure yard for the dogs and a field to walk them in off road parking and great views over the Holy Islands. The owner Mr Fiddler is around if you need anything and is full of local knowledge and is very nice chap, we will be back."

"My girl and I stayed for 4 nights in November and despite the weather throwing everything at us we had a fabulous time in this cosy little home from home. Initially I was concerned as there are just 2 storage heaters plus a heated towel rail in the whole place and we arrived on a pretty dismal day but once we got the stove going, we were super toasty, The place is beautifully equipped. If I want to be picky, a cafetiere would have been nice, there was only one tea towel, and the pillows weren't particularly comfy, but I am struggling to find problems. There was some concern that the A1 which was very close would bother us but we had no problems. The staircase is challenging but my girl and I are both women of a certain abundance and we coped well, despite the local mead and ale!!! My advice? Buy some logs from the nearby garage and chill out in front of a good movie. Lovely!"

"My husband and I and our Springer Spaniel stayed at Cuthbert's Cottage for four nights. The cottage is quite charming and nicely appointed and equipped. Other than breakfast we did not cater for ourselves, choosing instead to eat out, but the kitchen appears to have everything you would need if you did want to cook. The cottage has character (converted from a school) but also nice modern furnishings. It is very light and bright. The shower room is small, but perfectly formed. The bedroom is spacious - quite steep stairs though, so don't overdo the vino! (although we managed perfectly well). The sitting room is comfortable and no doubt cosy in the winter as there is a wood burner. The owner is friendly and helpful and there if you want him (he lives next door). Whilst we were there he was making some slight alterations outside to improve the garden space - he seems keen to make things good for his visitors. We enjoyed touring around the area - visited Berwick, Alnwick, Kelso, Wooler, Morpeth, Seahouses, Alnmouth and of course Holy Island as we were brilliantly situated for that - then we were happy to return to the cottage to relax either in the sitting room or outside on the patio. We tried the nearby Lindisfarne Inn and would recommend it, and there is also a garage with a very well stocked shop if you need it. The website did warn that the cottage is near the road and that there would be some noise, but we found there was surprisingly little noise, even with all the windows open. The most noise we experienced, which did not bother us at all, was probably the shutters being opened on the garage in the morning, but as we slept with our window wide open, this was hardly surprising. We had a lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend this cottage."
