Stamford Bridge was a fording point over the River Derwent for a Roman settlement, but nowadays is a town with a selection of shops and restaurants. The village is the site of the Battle of Stamford Bridge on 25 September 1066, which marked the end of the Viking era in Britain.
Reviews
"Situated just outside Stamford Bridge on the A166 close to Garrowby Hill. There are 3 individual cottages, Partridge, Barn Owl and Nightingale, sleeping 2,4 and 6 respectively. Our party of 6 adults (3 couples) and 2 babies stayed in the larger of the 3 cottages. The cottages have been converted to a very high standard and are extremely well presented. The hot tub is positioned on a private decking area and is an ideal way to relax after a busy day sight seeing (or shopping!). This is by far the best equipped rental cottage we have stayed in. Ideally located for visiting York, Hull, Whitby and other surrounding areas. Although this is a working farm on a busy main road there is little noise. The family who own the farm and cottages are very friendly and provide a welcome pack on arrival, including a bottle of wine to help you get into the holiday mood. All in all a perfect place to spend time with loved ones relaxing in luxury."
"Stayed here with a group of friends for our annual meet up - friendly and informative owner who greeted us and showed us round the property. We were all impressed by the attention to detail with this property it was so well equipped! The first floor hot tub was amazing and very well used throughout our weekend stay..... It was huge! Each bedroom had its own bathroom with toilet, wash basin and either shower or bath. Ample parking outside in courtyard. None of the hot tubs fir any of the properties are overlooked. Highly recommend for relaxing weekend!"
"Absolutely lovely. Beautiful accommodation, everything you need. Hot tub was super. We all made full use of it. Set in beautiful countryside yet very near to York and surrounding areas. Some lovely pubs for meals within a few miles. We would love to return."
"Outstanding cottage one of the best I have ever stayed in. Had a fantastic girls weekend relaxing in hot tub and shopping. Immaculately clean, kitchen everything you could possibly need.
