"A beautiful house in a stunning location! We arrived, with excellent directions from Emma, to find the house warm with fire lit in the 'barn and homemade mince tarts and handwritten note in the kitchen. The photos really don't do the property enough justice. As a party of ten, mixed ages, we had plenty of space. The bedrooms upstairs, all ensuite, are beautiful. The dining room comfortably seated everyone and the festive decorations added a wonderful touch. The kitchen provided enough room for 3 cooks and the living room, fondly referred to as the 'barn' by the family provided space to relax, play games (plenty provided & we only used one of the games we'd brought along) and a pool table enjoyed by all. Almost every window in the house provides an amazing view of the hills and the local town of Hebden Bridge and at night the children were entranced by the lights. We visited the town on 3 occasions and found everything we needed, including a very helpful dry cleaners who rushed a stained cardigan through for Xmas eve! One of the friendliest towns we've visited over the years. Around 6/7 miles away is the the town of Howarth, Bronte country. We visited on a day when the museum was closed but again found a delightful town with warm & welcoming local shops & eateries. Emma also put us in touch with Ian who arranged for a round of Golf on 2 occasions. The course is close by with yet again more amazing views. All in all, a fantastic holiday and we would definitely return. Our only notes on the property would be small; 1. Softer towels, 2. Headboards & thicker curtains in the downstairs bedroom (because of the room's configuration one of the beds is near an external door, with the other against the window), and lastly, 3. A few less cobwebs (both families visiting live in old houses & appreciate the pesky things arrive overnight, but some were quite extensive and a few under the stonework over the hob."

"We booked this property for our annual family get-together and could not have been more satisfied. Stephenson House is located at the end of a quiet lane in an elevated position, with magnificent views over the Mythholmroyd Valley. A Grade 2 listed farmhouse and barn, it has been renovated to a very high standard and it was a pleasure to live there for a week. Emma was extremely helpful and answered all queries quickly and courteously. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it."

"A party of eight adults stayed in this lovely house last week for our yearly October holiday. The house and location are stunning. It was a pleasure to stay in such a great house with all you could need for a self catering holiday. Its in an ideal location for walking and also visiting the many interesting places in the area. Emma the owner put in touch with Keri who came in one evening and cooked a wonderful meal for us. This house certainly deserves its five star rating."

"We recently stayed at this house for a weeks holiday. There was 9 of us in total, 5 adults and 4 kids. There was plenty of space for all of us we never felt crowded and the house itself was stunning, beds were really comfortable and having all the bathrooms was great aswell. The grounds are lovely, so quiet and peaceful and the views are magnificent. The owners are also lovely, will help you in any way they can to make sure you have a great holiday. We will definitely be back at some point in the future as we could not fault this house in any way."

"We booked this property as a base for family following my daughter's wedding at Gibson Mill , Hardcastle Crags , Hebden Bridge. Stephenson House more than lived up to expectations. It was perfect for our mixed age party with spacious well equipped rooms and plenty of outdoor space as well . We would happily have stayed much longer . It was also a good base from which to walk in the picturesque neighbouring countryside and Hebden Bridge was easily accessible for shopping, coffees etc . We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a larger holiday rental property."

"Stephenson House proved to be an excellent choice for our annual friends' get-together. The house is full of character and has been beautifully renovated, as reflected in the impressive images on the website. The location, high above Hebden Bridge, makes the views from the garden truly spectacular. We stayed for a week in mid May and enjoyed fantastic weather, so were able to make full use of the two comfortable outdoor sitting areas and barbecue. There is a delightful walk from the property, down through the woods, brimming with bluebells in May, to Mytholmroyd and along the canal to Hebden Bridge, taking about an hour. We found Hebden Bridge to be an interesting small town, buzzing with life and with a great choice of individual coffee/tea rooms, restaurants and shops and a daily changing outdoor market. Thanks to Emma for her thoughtfulness and efficient communications. The flowers and delicious cake, left for us on arrival, were much appreciated by all. We will highly recommend Stephenson House to other friends and family."

"We stayed in this property for my Dad's 80th birthday celebrations. We had a family get-together (12 of us). The house is beautiful. It is really spacious and very nicely furnished. We could not have asked for more. The views are stunning and even though we had good weather for March, It would be lovely to make use of the outside space on a nice summers evening. Hebden Bridge is about a mile down hill. It is a nice walk but you need to be fit, as it is a very steep hill, so my mum and dad got a lift there and back but the rest of us walked. I booked this property directly with the owner and I have to say, from start to finish, everything went really smoothly and Emma was really helpful. Hebden Bridge is a lovely little town to visit and there are other attractions: Haworth and the steam train very close by. I would not hesitate in recommending this superb property."

"10 friends stayed at Stephenson house for a school reunion. We had an amazing time in this gorgeous house which is beautifully located with spectacular views not even spoiled by the cold and wet weather. We arrived at the house to find the owner had left us a delicious home made Lemon drizzle cake, orange juice and milk. The house is enormous and all the bedrooms are beautifully decorated and furnished with hypnos mattresses which made for a very good sleep after busy days and nights! The photos of the house don't really do it justice as we were surprised at how big the house actually is. It was lovely and warm though the fire in the huge lounge kept going out and not sure if that was because the logs were slightly damp or just our inability as a group of women to keep it going!! Everything you need was provided although no toilet rolls were provided so take some with you as there is no shop nearby other than in Hebdon bridge. Plenty of crockery and kitchen wear to cook for 10 people and it was lovely to have a dining table large enough to seat us all comfortably. We had taken some games but there were lots already there and plenty of books and magazines and the tv had netflix. The dishwasher wasn't working but the owner got someone round to repair it for us within an hour of having reported it. We chose to have a caterer come in on the Saturday evening and we were recommended to try Riverside cafe. Would suggest other people to use this service as the food was lovely and it felt very decadent to be catered for whilst we only had to worry about which drink to choose! We had a fantastic time and were all so impressed by the standard of the house and Would love to visit at a warmer time of year to ake use of the lovely gardens surrounding the house."

"Hebden Bridge is a lively little town, well positioned for lovely walks along the canal and within easy reach of the Bronte museum in Hawarth and the World Heritage Site at Saltaire. Stephenson House is spacious and comfortable, with stunning views. Everything we needed was supplied and the large cooker made preparing meals a pleasure. Everyone slept well in the comfortable beds, and having en suites for each bedroom was a huge bonus."

"Each year my extended family and I go away for a week in August, typically in and around Yorkshire or the Lake District. We found Stephenson House through a straight forward web search and loved the pictures we saw. On arrival the property, and it's grounds, did not disappoint. The house is situated at the end of a single track lane. Each of our cars (including a large Jeep) were able to pass easily to the house, though the Tesco delivery man failed to make it as far as the house - you may want to add a comment to the delivery order to ensure their smaller size van is available! The photos on the website are an accurate reflection of what we found on arrival. The place was immaculate, inviting and welcoming. A rhubarb cake had been left out for us along with a welcome note, adding information about an upcoming local event that may be interesting to our children. One observation we all made was the provision of hot water and decent showers! So often in older houses the showers are pitiful and hot water comes and go -especially when there are 8 adults and several children needing showers and baths. Stephenson House not only provided hot, decent showers but managed to cope with more than one shower running at a time. As has been mentioned in other posts the owners are very helpful and easily contacted. Although we found no fault with the property we mentioned an external leak we saw one afternoon and the communication between myself and Emma, resulting in a quick site visit to verify all was ok, was excellent. The house, with kitchen, dining, snug and lounge communal space downstairs offers plenty of room for a larger group and all the bedrooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The grounds are wonderful, with table and chairs on two sides of the garden and an upper 'football pitch' enjoyed a lot by our children. The garden overlooks the town and valley and is a pleasing sight at any time of day. The BBQ is an essential part of outdoor kit, with coals and lighters easily sourced locally. Hebden Bridge is walkable from the property, 15- 20mins down hill. With young children we tended to drive and easily found on street parking within the town. There is a lot going on in the town and i must recommend the cinema, excellent rainy day activity for young and old! There are numerous walks from the property making it a winner for walkers, and runners. The property lies on a footpath and people walking by the property was a daily sight, though unobtrusive and caused us no concerns, even with young children around. All in all, a wonderful property is a great area, I thoroughly recommend and may well return myself!"

"The property is at the end of a lane on a hillside about a mile out of the very interesting little town of Hebden Bridge. The photos of the views and property are accurate as are the previous reviews. We had a large and varied group with various comings and goings. There is a lot of space so it never felt crowded and the owners supplied fresh linen for new arrivals moving into rooms that had been previously occupied by our earlier guests. The WiFi had been disabled by a recent electric storm but the owners provided an alternative whilst it was being replaced. The house and grounds were well maintained. Ecologically it is an interesting area will lots of sightings of mammals and birds. You can walk from the house along rights of way into town or further up the hills and onto the tops. There is a lot of good walking in the area; I think the valleys are more interesting than the bleak tops. A word of caution that the hill up from town is steep so you either need to be reasonably fit or use a car. It was a really comfortable well-equipped house ideal for our holiday."

"We booked Stephenson house for a long weekend reunion, and it did the job admirably for 10 relaxed blokes. It was well-appointed with lots of en-suites and a nice big kitchen. The view was well appreciated and location was pleasantly remote - though this did make takeaways and taxis a bit of a challenge. Hebden Bridge itself was surprisingly well suited to a good night out with some nice relaxed and spacious pubs and a couple of interesting bars. I can imagine the house would be good for extended families getting together and a comfortable base for walkers and explorers. We all enjoyed sitting outside at the table in the evening taking in the tranquil view over drinks. The house was pristine and the owners did a good job of communicating what they needed and when and what expectations they had of visitors, as well as arrival instructions, and prompt repayment of housekeeping bond. All in all a spacious, unique and beautifully maintained building set in a remote-feeling location, yet close to a nice town. "

"I booked this venue to celebrate a colleague's retirement weekend treat. The farmhouse itself was spectacular, with views to die for. The amenities were second to none. Beautifully presented and tastefully decorated. All of our party felt they would fully recommend it to friends and family. We will most certainly keep it in mind for more weekend stays. Beautiful touch of homemade scones and jam, as a welcome treat."

"...what a view!!!! The location was perfect for us. Five minutes from the shops, pubs and cafes of Hebden Bridge, up a small country road and it felt like we were miles from anyone. The view was stunning, the house felt huge, even with ten other family members sharing, the grounds were beautiful, with walks on your doorstep I couldn't recommend Stephenson House highly enough. There was everything you would need, the hardest decision was deciding whether to explore Hebden Bridge or stay in this fantastic house. I should also add our host Emma couldn't have been more helpful and the lemon drizzle cake that greeted us was delicious. Had a wonderful time and hope to return in the future."

Easy access to Hebden Bridge, beautiful walks from the door. We will go back."

"We had a family gathering for New Year 2016/2017 and my 60th Birthday the house is amazing, first class and to a very high standard. There were 12 adults and we had plenty of space. All the family loved it and Emma could not have been more helpful. We would defiantly stay again and would recommend to friends without hesitation."

"Every year 12 of us go away together (6 adults and 6 kids) and we have picked a different location each time looking for something that meets all our needs and wishes. Stephenson House has been the best by far! The photographs do not do the house justice. It was immaculate upon arrival with milk, coffee and a lovely home made apple cake awaiting to welcome us. The size of the house is enormous with more than enough space for us all. All facilities were second to none with en-suite facilities for all. The location is fabulous with wonderful views across the valley. (I loved having a coffee each morning whilst standing on the patio taking in the views and fresh air. So relaxing). There are various walks around the house that will suit varying abilities. You can have a short stroll along the lane or walk for miles either up or down hills to either the towns or across the fields. The owners were very friendly and helpful throughout the booking process and with making pre-arrival arrangements by setting the bedrooms up as we required. I cannot recommend Stephenson House enough and I hope that we will return here again in the future."

"A friend found this property for our yearly long weekend with five couples. It was perfect for our needs. Th journey down to the house off the main road is tight and kept going! You drive past other houses, literally right past their front doors, to get to Stephenson House at the end. Tricky in the dark so happy we arrived in daylight! All bedrooms ensuite and double beds, although the door stairs room is small compared to the four upstairs. The end bedroom with the bath in the ensuite was ours and the claw foot bath was so lovely next to a beautiful modern stained glass picture window. I could have stayed in there for hours! Views are spectacular looking down onto Hebden Bridge. Some of our party did walk down to the village centre which was slippy with all the leaves but not too bad and took half hour. We also walked to the nearest pub, the Hare and Hounds in 20 minutes or so along the bridal path directly opposite the Burlees Lane turning. It was a very dark walk home. Torches a must! The house was just lovely to relax in and share a meal round the big table which seated the 10 of us fine. The billiards table was fun and we did use the Wii console for bowling one evening as only one game in the drawer under TV. The house was well stocked for those wanting to cook while there, and we were left a tasty Parkin cake for our arrival which was a nice touch. The only comment about things not provided was a sponge/scratchy pad for washing up. We couldn't wash up the oven/grill pans very well until we'd been to buy sponges. No one thought to bring any. 2 tea towels, 3 dishwasher tablets and white flannel cloth thing were provided though. This house is beautiful and we all enjoyed our long weekend there very much. A nice base for exploring that part of Yorkshire."
