Reviews
"The location of the cottage was wonderful (if a bit difficult to find due to lack of signal on my phone) but once we made it there, it was great. Very quiet and relaxing and the hot tub was lovely. The cottage is well kept and the hosts were some of the nicest people we have experienced when travelling. We also went on day trips to snowdia, conwy castle and the Wirral/Liverpool all a 40-60 mine drive away. I would definitely recommend this cottage and would like to stay again k the near future."
"A group of us stayed in the newer cottage for a long weekend and we absolutely loved it! Everything is finished to a very high standard and very luxurious, with stunning views and surroundings. There were some lovely thoughtful touches and we will most definitely be coming back!"
"We stayed here for a week along with the rest of my family which included 6 adults and a baby. The cottage is situated in a very quiet, secluded spot on the side of a hill not far from the town of Ruthin, which made the cottage quite tricky to find, (there is no mobile phone signal) - so it made it a bit more difficult trying to find the cottage if you arrive in the dark like we did! However, the location was beautiful. The views over the hillside and small village of Clocaenog are best enjoyed from the first floor lounge or from the hot tub! We spent many evenings enjoying the hot tub, even in the pouring rain. One of the reasons we choose this cottage was because every bedroom had either a double or twin beds (no bunkbeds!) and each room also had an en-suite, which meant no queues for the bathroom each morning. The cottage was spotless, and the facilities were more than adequate. The sinks in some of the ensuites were rather small - ideal for brushing teeth etc, but it did make it very easy to spill water onto the floor. Also, the bedrooms would really benefit from a couple more coathooks or maybe a towel rail in the bathroom to hang the extra towels. Only other small thing, maybe a plug socket near to the large mirror would have made drying (and straightning) my hair a bit easier. All in all, this cottage had everything you could possibly need. The box of chocolates and wine were much appreciated! We had a lovely week in North Wales and were so pleased that we were able to find this lovely cottage. We would highly recommend the cottage to anyone!"
"It's taken me a while to get to this review but I think the fact I still remember what a fabulous time we had is testimony to the standard of this cottage! Bruce and Catrin are wonderful hosts, attentive enough without being overbearing and making you feel uncomfortable - the added extras were also much appreciated after a long drive! The standard of finish in this building leaves almost nothing to be desired, from the comfortable beds and high quality furniture to the lovely hot showers and well kept outdoor area, it oozes the sense of cheeky luxury. There was only one slight issue we found, there were lovely little ceiling height windows in each of the upstairs room making them feel light and spacious, however these did let the light in and resulted in us waking up early as the sun rose. We combatted this by organising the throw cushions and pushing them up into the gap but blinds may be a good addition here. We spent all of our evenings in the hot tub, one of the things that made this holiday such a super short break! There did seem to be a slight issue with some of the jets and audio facilities despite being a little annoying this didn't spoil it for us - the view could make up for pretty much anything! Great to have wifi which actually worked, obviously signal can be an issue in real areas like this. Ruthin takes less time and hassle to get to than you make think and the Tesco is well stocked. If you're a keen cook the cottage seems to provide all utensils, pans etc that you may need. The location is lovely if you're not looking to do too much. We did end up driving about an hour each day to get around but that's just us. There's a nearby Go Karting centre which is well worth a visit. When we stayed they were working on a second cottage, we've already got our sights set on hiring them both for another weekend ASAP so that we can share this experience with an even bigger group of friends, although I did wonder if I should really give this nearly secret space away..."
"This is by far the best cottage I have ever stayed in, it is finished to an extremely high standard, the hosts are both warm and welcoming and very friendly, the welcome gifts on arrival are a very nice touch, I would definitely reccomend this place to anybody, it is worth every penny, I would be happy to return."
"If looking for 5 star luxury this barn conversion delivers everything you could ask for from the high level of the finish to the unexpected treats left for your arrival . We have stayed in many places but are pushed to find anything as good as this and to top it off the hot tub with the stunning views over the valley is the perfect way to relax after a day exploring the surrounding areas."
