Reviews
"This is a beautiful place to stay, with really comfortable facilities on the inside and a stunning location on the outside. Both bedrooms are spacious, the twin on the ground floor can be made into a comfortable king, and this room has a huge bathroom with jacuzzi bath and walk in shower. The upstairs bedroom has a king size bed and jacuzzi bath with shower over and under floor heating. That room also has skylights and fantastic views. The middle floor has a well equipped kitchen with large dining table and sofas. Tv reception worked fine on the top floor but sporadic on the lower two but with that setting who needs telly! The wifi was good. Outside is where it comes into its own. Overlooking fields with alpaca, and into moorland beyond, the balcony is a fantastic place to watch the local wildlife. And it's amazing. The best entertainment comes with a fivers worth of bird seed and peanuts, there are two local red squirrels who are almost guaranteed to show up if you put food out. Also pheasants, jackdaws, coal tits, robins etc. The owners are right next door and have lots of hints for good places to eat and visit. The cottage is in a great location for visits to Hadrians Wall, Hexham, the north east and the Lakes. This is a beautiful place to stay, I cannot rate it highly enough, and can't wait to go back."
"Good location less than 5 miles east of Alston, in farmland with field of Alpacas outside. Quality interior, large room, good kitchen, all modern and very clean. Pleasant walk to local pub and restaurant, surrounded by good walks."
"First time we have been to Northumberland. It's a beautiful place with lots of quaint villages, walks from the front door, friendly owners, it was a well deserved week break for us both and our jack Russell. I will definitely return, comfortable bed, good sky TV free view, Internet access, we did a trip a day, Hadrains wall, waterfalls, bbq, watched lambs being born on a local farm, forest walks. "
