Reviews
"Have just spent a short break at this well laid out clean, spacious, & well equipped lodge, set in a beautiful, peaceful, rural location, overlooking the river which meanders alongside. Ducks, geese, & hens were regular visitors, and a rather eccentric partridge. Well laid out open plan living space leading to large deck, with views over river to open fields. Would not have been surprised to see Ratty, Mole, or Hammy row by. Friendly owner."
"A last minute booking with the owners David and Gill, saw me and my wife have 6 wonderful nights of tranquility in the wonderful Lime Lodge at Clun Valley Lodges. From December 27th to January 2nd in ever changing gale force winds, snow, rain and a fun spells of sunshine, the facilities and location of the Lodge are heaven. Well equipped Kitchen area, perfect living area, good size bathroom with bath and seperate shower, excellent master bedroom with superb storage, similar size other bedroom with two single beds. The owners kindly provide all the cooking equipment (tongs were missing, but owner will rectify before next guests arrive), towels and bedding. Ludlow is a 15 minute drive away offering excellent supermarkets, fresh produce market as well as numerous local deli's to purchase your food and drink from. The lodge has Wi-Fi and freesat TV, DVD Player, so despite the weather i could be on the internet whilst my wife curled up with a cup of tea and copious amounts of Childrens Films. The views of the River are great, although very noisy and fast running due to all the inclement weather. The lodges are contained on a deadend track away from all noise and disruption. We had two excellent quality meals at the Hundred House Inn, 3 miles away in nearby Purslow. We also ventured out on several local walks when the weather allowed. Although very very Hilly the stunning views and countryside is breathtaking, especially with snow on the ground. We came for relaxation and to unwind and the saddest thing was having to leave. Would always recommend a stay at David & Gill's perfect lodge."
"This lodge is in a very tranquil location, is very well laid out & beautifully furnished. It has a good deck with furniture & backs on to a river. There is a good pub within walking distance, which provides meals from Wednesday to Sunday, including take away fish and chips on Wednesdays. The location is very close to the Welsh border, with walks and castles galore. We had a lovely time & look forward to going back again very soon."
"Lime lodge is a very light, modern, well equipped, place to stay. The owners have paid attention to every detail, towels and bedding included. Also a very simply dial to turn for the heating to be adjusted. The bed was lovely and comfortable and there's plenty of storage too. The lounge is light and airy, a very comfortable sofa to cosy up on and watch the large smart TV, take along a usb with your own films on to watch, as we did. Although there is a well stocked games and DVD cupboard too. The kitchen has a dishwasher and plenty of crockery and utensils to fill it. The phone signal was none existent on my network (O2) this did not bother us, we actually liked no one being able to contact us lol Our first recommendation is to crack open your bottle of wine and sit out on the comfy chairs on the decking and watch the ducks surf down stream, there's so much wildlife here, it's beautiful just doing nothing - together. Our second recommendation is The Baron at Bucknell, only 15mins away in the car, this is an excellent place to eat. Such a relaxing, tranquil place, we will definitely be back!"
"We stayed for a week in this very well appointed lodge, everything was in good order and very comfortable, including the beds ! the weather as expected in November was not too good but the central heating worked very well, also as we had quite a few meals in the lodge and as there were 4 of us the dish washer was most welcome. There is no mobile signal but the free wifi means you can still e-mail if you need to, means a nice quiet time !! We all had a very nice time walking and visiting the lovely little towns around."
"The lodge is one of about 10 similar lodges on a small site next to the river in Clunton. The village is a five minute walk and has a nice pub that serves good food. Clunton itself is very quiet, off the beaten track and a great place for walking/cycling. The lodge itself is excellent, very comfortable and spacious with all the facilities and equipment you need. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom had plenty storage. The living area was also comfortable with a great balcony next to the river where you can watch the ducks and look for other wildlife. The kitchen had everything you need. Wifi was available but was very patchy and unavailable for long periods as its seemingly shared with the rest of the site. There is an on-site warden if you need help though. Really enjoyed our stay there and would happily return."
"This was a dream come true, people look for paradise?? IT'S HERE!! After being in many holiday houses, this was the one and all, fine attention to every detail, sparkling clean & maxi cozy. On the one side you have the valley and hills & the other side the river with its ducks that carry you into a world of total serenity. THIS IS THE PLACE TO COME AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN just bring with you the one you love and you can stay here forever!"
