Reviews
"We've recently got back from a fantastic weekend at Cae Glas. The house was warm, inviting and clean. It's much bigger inside than it looks from the outside and all the bedrooms were of a good size. The hot tub was fab, the pool table was a winner with our group and the absolute gem to this place was the BBQ hut, what a fantastic addition to a great holiday house. The only improvements I could identify are more lighting outside, especially around the step of the decking, and maybe putting an additional bathroom in. In summary though, a great find and location for large family gatherings, with plenty to keep all occupied. Well done to the owner for some of the refurbs she's recently done too."
"This holiday home was a pleasant surprise! It has a lovely countryside location, with walking routes from the front door to explore the surroundings. It is right next to the the RAF airfield, which was nice for us to watch the planes. This might not be for everyone as the planes can be extremely loud at times. The planes did not fly during the weekend, bank holiday or at night. The accommodation itself was plentiful for all of our family. There were plenty of places for everyone to do their own thing. We have stayed at many rental properties over the years, and we thought that the array of facilities/activities provided was excellent. The hot tub was a delight and the barbecue hut was a fun and comfortable place to spend the evening. The pool table also proved a hit with all ages! The main downside was that we think the property could do with another bathroom. There was one main bathroom, with shower, bath and toilet, an en-suite bathroom and a extra toilet in the utility room. As the en-suite bathroom was within somebody's room and the utility room was accessed from outside, most of our party tended to take their turn in the one main bathroom. Saying this, it did not cause us too much of a problem. We would be happy to stay at this property again!"
"Firstly please don't be put off by the negative reviews! We have just come back from a lovely week spent at Cae Glas as six adults and six children (ranging from 2-6 years old). There really is something for everyone here! The place is huge so we had no problems with space, whether it was just hanging out in the living room(s) or cooking/eating. But for us the best part by far was the garden and everything that came with it. We were blessed with brilliant weather and the children were outside most of the time they were awake at the bungalow! The adults could watch the children sitting in the sun on the decking during the day and we spent evenings in the hot tub stargazing - we saw at least 3 or 4 shooting stars each night which was amazing! Cae Glas comes highly recommended from all our party, in fact we enjoyed it so much that we have already booked to go back for another week next August!"
"We booked this holiday over 12 months ago. Around 4 week ago we were in turmoil by seeing some shocking reviews. Even considered cancelling. We met donna the owner and we were open to her about our hesitations. She seemed very upset regarding the bad reviews. She took us around the house and yes there was the odd little thing that had ware and tare but that is what to expect when you rent a house out virtually every week of the year and having up to 14 people staying there. It was clean and we also kept it clean, home from home. I took massive advantage of the washing machine and returned home with virtually no washing which was a bonus. The kids took massive advantage of the hot tub , the first morning we woke up to the kids in there at 6 am . It was our daughters 14th birthday on our first full day there and she had a ball. The bbq area is amazing and so is all of the garden! We used the garden to our advantage and did not see one rat! We saw one vole and the kids loved it. Let's bare in mind this house is in the middle of fields we expected more wild life to be fair. The kitchen probably is a bit small for such a big house but we managed no problem at all. We had some wonderful teas each evening and there is a lovely Chinese that delivers. Raf valley kept the kids and the men entertained too with the fly overs. We have already booked again for next year and can't wait to use this pure little gem again. We left on Friday with a lovely text message saying thank you for leaving the house in good order and so clean off the land lady. And this morning woke up to our deposit back in the bank. We have no fault at all and with our experiences all I can say is I would highly recommend. Also the location of the house is fantastic for getting to every where. We did adventures we have never done before , water sports especially. Can't wait to return !!!! There were 3 families with our party and 13 of us altogether, we never got under each others feet as it is so spacious , two living rooms, massive conservatory and a extra toilet out side in the utility. Thank you to our lovely friends for forever memories and can't wait until next time."
"This place is not how it looks. Firstly the bedrooms were dirty, the bedding and towels were disgusting - old bobbled sheets and very old hard towels. It wasn't clean as there was stale food from previous guests under the bed, not a good start. No dishwasher for 14 people and only 2 tea towels provided. No hot tub as advertised - no table tennis and only one ball for mock up bowling if you could find it. Swings for children but not safe as rats in the garden so not ideal. One bathroom which also needs a refurb apart from the one in the main bedroom. Small fridge and cooker not working to its capacity. The dining table is in the Conservatory but beware if it rains it leaks in a few places, so buckets need. Advertises TVs but not all working- we pointed this out to the owner and she said it was our fault. Eleven out of fourteen of us became ill and we all left before our week was over. So glad to get home - we could have gone abroad for less. Landlady very unhelpful beware we didn't get our deposit back. Could write more but thank you might get the picture. Very bad experience."
"We stayed here at the weekend some of the family are there for the week. Ignore the bad reviews this house is spotless. The outside area is fantastic for young children and there is lots of space and seating areas . No issues with the hot tub it was in full working order and clean. The owner even provided life jackets for the children. Clean towels were provided. Lots of dvds to watch and a pool table to keep everyone entertained. Peaceful location but only a short drive to shops pubs. I'd stay here again without hesitation. Owner is really friendly and gave us some ideas for days out in the area."
"After spending a seemingly good week at the property, despite minor set backs such as blunt knives, empty hot tub and broken toilet seats, we were accused of breaking the already obviously broken basketball hoop and pool table that was secretly balancing on a faulty leg. Part of our deposit was withheld because of the accusations saying we were the ones who broke it, when we did nothing of the sort and were subjected to obvious safety hazards. Be aware."
"For anyone thinking of booking this cottage, please think twice for the following reasons; It advertised a hot tub but it didn't work It advertised a table tennis table but it was in bits at the bottom of the garden The sheets were so old they were bobbly The mattresses were so old you could feel every spring There was a crib for a brand new baby which fell apart when we took it off the floor. Thank goodness we didn't need to use it!! The conservatory roof leaked! The general cleanliness of the cottage was below standard. we found old food under one of the beds. The shower heads were black with mildew. The drawers in the kitchen hasn't been cleaned out in ages. We saw two rats in the garden. I could go on. The owner has handled the feedback appallingly and as a consequence hasn't returned our bond despite several times of asking. Be aware handing any money over to the owner of this cottage. Dreadful way to run a business."
"We stayed at this cottage at the beginning of March this year. We booked this cottage because of the hot tub. We was away with friends for a 40th birthday weekend. When we arrived on the Friday the hot tub was out of use & we was not informed of this prior to our visit. We stayed a total of 3 nights & only had use of the hot tub for one day as it was too cold. The owner was not interested & rude. Would not recommend this cottage."
"13 of us visited for a new year break for a week, and it was a very nice place to stay. The added features of an indoor barbecue and games room were definitely big plusses. The location was very close to RAF Valley so those who enjoyed plane spotting had a good time watching jets going over in during the days they were flying. It was also fairly near to a beach (around a 20 minute walk) which took you by the side of the runway of the airport which was also very interesting. The bedrooms were all of a good size and there were plenty of towels and bedding etc supplied. There was also plenty of cutlery and crockery, which given the size of our group, and lack of a dishwasher was essential. The only thing I would say about this that wasnt positive, is that it would probably be better for 2-3 small families rather than adults, purely due to the lack of a dishwasher and only having the one master bathroom - There are two bathrooms but one is an en-suite, so it meant 9+ adults using the one bathroom, which could be an issue for some groups - it wasnt for us as we worked around it quite well, but others may be more fussy. Overall it was a lovely break away, the cottage had a lot of facilities and was close by to a lot of Anglesey's attractions."
