Reviews
"We were a large mixed group (aged 4 months to 60 years old) and an 18 month old Yorkshire Terrier called Tobie. We all found Swallow Barn to be an amazing place to stay. The ground floor has the 'wow' factor with the huge sitting area and the view up the stairs to the galleried landing. The whole place was spotless and the facilities are excellent. The sofas are so comfy and there is plenty of seating. The beds are also great and we all had restful sleep (even the baby!)The levels of equipment provided really are first class. There was a problem with the gas when we arrived that wasn't the fault of the owners but they bought us take away pizza as we couldn't cook. A lack of water for a short period the next day resulted in Sue bringing round two bottles of champagne and chocolates. This was very much appreciated and shows how much they value their customers. The farm is in a wonderful position on a hillside and so close to some great places to visit. We went to Skipton, Bolton Abbey, Malham Cove, Fountains Abbey, Clitheroe, Ilkley and wished we had more time in this lovely part of Yorkshire. Would love to stay again and we enjoyed meeting Leonard, the farm dog."
"Just returned home from a perfect weekend away at Swallow Barn. We were attending a family wedding in nearby Skipton so decided to book here instead of a hotel. There were 9 adults staying here and we cannot speak highly enough of the place. It was spotless on arrival and Sue the owner popped in to welcome us but then left us to our own devices all weekend, despite only living next door. The cottage itself is amazing, the photos really don't do it justice and the under floor heating just topped it off. The town of Silsden is a good half an hour walk away. It's all downhill so would recommend getting a taxi back home for the return journey. We ventured into Silsden on the Saturday afternoon and spent the day in the Robin Hood pub which was also a friendly and welcoming place. Five stars from us and we are already planning on going back next summer. Just perfect. "
"It was my husband's 50th birthday and we were looking for somewhere to stay with a group of 8 friends (5 couples). There are plenty of houses / cottages for 10+ people, but not all with the correct number of bedrooms that would allow 5 couples to be able to stay together. Swallow Barn has 5 double or twin bedrooms, 3 are en suite, so a perfect set up for our group. The pictures don't do the place justice. The house is huge, open plan downstairs, but still cosy and comfortable. There are plenty of seats for everyone and the kitchen has everything you could need. Plenty of crockery, cutlery and cups and glasses. There is a beautiful cooker and huge fridge to store enough food and drinks for 10 people. Everything in the cottage is finished beautifully, with a lovely stone floor downstairs and the under floor heating makes it very warm. The cottage is located in a farm, and although it is joined to the owners house, there were no intrusions, but the owner was around to show us what we needed to know in the cottage and to answer any questions if we had any. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and if we find the need to travel with a large group again, I would definitely go back."
"Celebrating a 50th birthday with friends and family, I can definitely say I couldn't have asked for anything more with regards the facilities, the Barn has been converted to a very high standard, not sure it could be improved upon, underfloor heating, well decorated, amazing open planned layout which allowed everyone to be involved at all times, absolutely spotless and well worth every penny, definitely home from home (actually better), no question I would return for another visit if I get the opportunity"
"I've felt compelled to write a review of this property because there doesn't seem to be many reviews online about this place. Initially I thought this was slightly concerning but I shouldn't have worried as this property is fantastic! I booked this venue for myself and a group of friends to spend a long weekend in Yorkshire - it was ideal. The accommodation has been furnished beautifully and there was definitely a lot of oohs and ahs from my friend as they arrived. The kitchen is well equipped and the living room had lovely leather sofas and a log burner- perfect for a winter's evening. The property also has four showers which is very handy for ten people all trying to get ready in the morning. The owner was really welcoming and although lives in the property next door we all felt like we had our own space. The space for cars is also worth highlighting as many properties I looked into didn't have much space. This is not a problem here and we comfortably fitted four cars in front of the property with room to spare. So in conclusion, if you want a property which has stunning views, beautifully furnished and a great space for social gatherings I can't recommend this place enough. Looking forward to returning already!"
