In the Domesday Book, Addingham is referred to as "Ediham", or "Home of Edi" - the Earl Edwin of Bolton Abbey. This historic village is located between Ilkley and Skipton and sits snugly in the valley of the River Wharfe, only three miles from the Dales National Park at Bolton Abbey. A corn mill near where High Mills is today was also mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1315, and over from the river is a weir, one of the most ancient medieval constructions in the village. Scenic Bolton Abbey is close by, and visitors shouldn't leave Addingham without taking a picturesque stroll along the river to the "Strid". Today Addingham is vibrant and thriving local community surrounded by stunning countryside and boasts little shops, fine pubs serving wonderful ales and a rather pleasing golf course.

"I can't praise Cringles House enough - it's such a lovely, well thought out and we'll equipped house. We stayed for the wkend in October for my hen do - 10 hen's!! Ages ranged from 20 to 60. Everyone loved Cringles!! The house is spacious and spotlessly clean, everything's set up for your arrival with complimentary toiletries in the bedrooms. The hot tub was amazing, I wish I could have stayed in it for longer. I've read bad reviews about the road noise spoiling people's use of the hot tub - I would say this is rubbish! Yes the house is near an A road but once you get the jets on in the hot tub you don't hear the road noise - which was minimal anyway!!! We had such a fabulous weekend at Cringles and we're considering it being a annual visit!! 5* review from the hens :) "

"We celebrated my birthday here over a long weekend and were very impressed with the house. It was so well equipped and the owners had thought of everything to make the stay a happy and comfortable one. The big hot tub proved very popular indeed! Our little granddaughter came for a short visit on the Sunday and loved the extensive gardens. We ate out in nearby Ilkley on the Saturday at a lovely Spanish restaurant called La Casita but wanted to make the most of the facilities on the Sunday night so ate in after a leisurely walk in the local countryside! The dining table seats up to twelve people so there was plenty of room for everyone and there was a great atmosphere. Paul, the owner, was exceptionally accommodating from when we first booked and was more than happy to answer any questions. I had a memorable 60th celebration with friends and family so thank you 'Cringles House'. I would whole-heartedly recommend this wonderful 'getaway' and would definitely return!"

"We had the pleasure of being the first guests to stay at Cringles House over a Christmas break and it was perfect for us. The weather was pretty wild wet and windy, but what do you expect from the Yorkshire Moors in December, however the house was warm, welcoming, clean and very well equipped. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wanted to visit the fabulous countryside on its doorstep."
