"I spent a blissfully happy week here with my dog Hoover. The cottage has everything you want from a cottage but with all the mod cons that make it suit modern living. There are lovely, homely touches and lots of characterful features throughout, which when accompanied by the well-equipped kitchen, wi-fi, tv and the central heating make it the perfect place to escape to whilst keeping up with day-to-day life (should you need to). The doggy and human welcome pack was indeed very welcome: wine, choccies, bisciuts (human and doggy) among other things...just lovely thank you. The road is reasonably busy but it didn't disturb me at all. Instead it meant that the cottage was ideally located to get just about everywhere in the Southwold area in a relatively short journey, and if you're traveling alone but don't want to feel too isolated then seeing signs of life outside the window and having a neighbour next door might be just the thing to make you feel at home. There is a fabulous grocery store just a few metres up the road for any bits and bobs you may need. The garden is enclosed so Hoover could go out for a mooch about without me, and there is masses of parking space. The only slight negative I should mention is that the wooden stairs twist steeply - this could make them difficult to navigate for the elderly or infirm. However this part of the character of the building and therefore something that comes part and parcel of staying in such a lovely cottage. The owners have thought of everything and they were even kind enough to call me the day before to let me know the cottage was empty the night before and that I could check in as early as I liked! How kind! I think we were there by 9 a.m.!! I would definitely stay here again if I were to re-visit the area."

"We found this lovely cottage very last minute and were certainly not disappointed - quite the opposite - this place is just gorgeous. Small but perfectly formed and beautifully renovated with lots of lovely decor touches to finish. Every detail has been thought of by the owners. Great central location for southwold and aldeburgh. Nearest beach is 10 mins away ehich the dogs and kids loved. Lots to do. Will be back ! "

"Just returned from a lovely trip to Thorington. Great cottage, lovely welcome gifts, spotlessly clean and tidy. Great location in the middle of everything. Kids and veteran Daschund loved it!"

"So lucky to have found this property for a last minute unplanned booking. The house is beautifully decorated and it turned out we were the first guests! The extensive welcome pack was an unexpected bonus. It is clear the owners have put a great deal of thought and energy into making the most of the space, and everything you could wish for in a holiday home is provided. We did experience one minor problem during our stay, but the owners are easily contactable by phone/email, and responded immediately to resolve the issue. The house sits right by the busy A12, so some road noise was inevitable during the day although as the weather was hot and sunny we kept the windows open most of the time. There is a huge garden which would be great for families with young children and/or dogs as it is very secure on all sides, and there is more than ample space to park. The location for us was perfect, and we were able to explore this lovely part of the Suffolk coast from Orford to Southwold very easily - there are many beaches within a 10 - 20 minute drive. So why only 4 stars? The only slight negatives for us were in respect of the layout of the house. Access to the only bathroom is from the second bedroom which was slightly inconvenient for us, and the narrow spiral staircase is particularly steep. These points are clearly addressed in the description of the property, but are worth considering if you have anyone in your party with mobility problems or very young children. Overall a wonderful find."
