The town of Stratford-on-Avon is steeped in history and is set in glorious Warwickshire countryside, on the banks of the River Avon. There are many other properties connected to Shakespeare and his family all of which are open all year round and boast beautiful 16th Century furnishings as well as Tudor gardens – allowing visitors to see what life was like during this period. There are also many other attractions and pursuits such as messing around on the River Avon, visiting other local historic houses and sampling the delights of the many excellent eateries in the area.
Reviews
"We stayed here on our 'mini-moon' just after we got married and we couldn't have picked anywhere better. This was perfect. The Hayloft had everything and more, overall the cottage was rather large, nice original features with brickworks and wooden beams, fully furnished kitchen, superb bathroom and the bedroom was lovely! A smashing touch was the complimentary Damson Jam and the fact the Hayloft was provided with DVDs and board games, we in particually enjoyed the Stratford-Upon-Avon edition of Monopoly. The Hayloft was excellent and just having this place would have been enough but you get much more. The location is fantastic, not bang in the middle of Stratford-Upon-Avon, just a few minutes outside, we enjoyed this as it meant the area was nice and peaceful, no cars flying past and the surrounding area was just nice countryside. Speaking of the surrounding area, this was picture perfect and lovely for a walk, the ground of the property was something else and whoever does the gardening deserves a medal its pristine, intact everything about this place is. Also if you enjoy fishing towards the end of the property is a lovely fishery, although I think this is separate but still lovely. The highlight for us was the hot tub looking across the country side, the view is spectacular and the indoor swimming pool, this was incredible, we used it every day, it was unreal! The owners were excellent and were very friendly, always on hand to help if needed. We were delighted we picked this for our 'mini-moon' and we most certainly will be returning in the future, do not hesitate to book this place!"
"My boyfriend and I really loved this barn conversion and sleeping up in the eves. We had the best nights' sleep ever during our stay, the king size bed was amazingly comfy! Everything was just like the pictures, we arrived to find a lovely vase of flowers, homemade bread and damson jam, which was a nice touch. Being sat in the hot tub with views of the countryside was just bliss, very peaceful. Though the swimming pool and hot tub were communal we were lucky enough to have them to ourselves. The only thing is that they are only in use during the day time, so some days we didn't make it back in time to take advantage of it. I'd recommend taking a dressing gown, towel and flip flops to walk round to the pool and hot tub, though there is a cubicle to get changed in. Also contrary to the pictures - no drinking in the hot tub! The owners were really friendly and came down to introduce themselves. We also had an email from them in advance which was really helpful and we worked out bike storage with them in advance. This is a great location for national trust properties, frisbee golf, and exploring Warwickshire and The Cotswolds. It is also walking distance to the pub in the village, though I'd recommend taking a torch at night!"
"My husband and I just spent a magical Christmas at the hayloft. It has tons of character and is a really cosy cottage with plenty of mod cons. The bath is deep and spacious with plenty of hot water. The sofas are really comfortable as is the bed and due to plenty of radiators its easy to stay warm. The Hayloft is in a great location, nice and close to the Park and ride so access to Stratford is easy. "
"Just returned from our five day stay at this wonderfully located Hayloft. It has charm and feels very homely, there is a indoor swimming pool just two minuets walk on the grounds also a hot tub that looks out over wonderful countryside. The view is so relaxing whilst you enjoy the warm water of the hot tub.The farm shop on the site is also very resonable with plenty to choose from also if you are a fisherman then you have fishing ponds approx five or ten minuets from the Hayloft which you can use."
