Reviews
"Absolutely gorgeous location and cottages that are a great mix of traditional Yorkshire farm house and modern amenities. Cosy, super clean with delightful friendly hosts who live on site. The welcoming basket of fresh baked scones, homemade jam, milk, tea and coffee was a welcome, delicious treat on arrival. It is a working farm with ah eep and cows wandering around in adjacent fields and a cattle gate to pass through on the laneway up to the farm. Wonderful views of surrounding countryside. Will definitely stay here again when next in this area."
"My family think I'm a wonderful organiser - so challenged me to find self-catering accommodation on the south side of the Dales, in peak holiday period, for five adults, one of whom had mobility issues, in the middle of the school summer holidays, with only 4 weeks notice. I thought, when I found Curlew Cottage that I'd hit the jackpot (i.e. _found_ somewhere!) It turned out not quite as accessible as we'd hoped - but with a little jiggling of sleeping arrangements, was fine (note to others: the uneven floors are VERY uneven, and the single room is on a half-landing-up-a-half-separated-stairs - I'd recommend you look at Kestrel next door, and round up three other family members and book both). When my husband and I turned up as the advanced guard, we were very taken aback - EVERYTHING was perfect. A great welcome from the hosts. A house that I'd be proud to call my home (and it feels like a home rather than a show home). Superbly equipped (and "ask us if there is anything you need, there isn't room to fit everything in"). I had looked at a map (yep, near enough to the Wharfe Valley, book it) but not _really_ looked at a map, so the setting came as a complete surprise. I'd imagined a mill-town terrace - nothing wrong with that, I thought - often have really nice views. So to find ourselves on a working farm, high above the Aire was a superb bonus."
