Reviews
"This lovely quirky holiday home is just what we needed to get away from it all.a Peace and quiet abound. Sue was there to greet us and made us very welcome. Everything you need has been thought of and provided. Thank you Sue for a fabulous holiday."
"We loved our stay in this cottage. Situated down a short lane next to open countryside it is comfortable, extremely well equipped and characterful, with a large private garden perfect for al fresco dining. Susan in all it is, the owner is extremely welcoming and presented with us a delicious home made cake to top off the already generous welcome pack. It is perfectly situated for visiting so many Shropshire and Welsh attractions and is such a warm, cosy place to come back to after a day out. All in all it is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in, and we can't recommend it highly enough."
"This is definitely the place to stay if you require peace and quiet, in the evenings we heard absolutely no noise whatsoever. The owner Susan is lovely, very welcoming and greeted us with the most luxurious welcome pack we have ever received. The cottage is old and charming - we found the stairs a bit of a challenge as they are quite steep and narrow, apart from this we were more than happy with the cottage as Susan has equipped it well with everything you could need and more. There was a large supply of big fluffy towels and a wonderful hot tub in the secluded garden."
"Pen-y-maes stands at the end of a short lane, snuggled cosily in the surrounding countryside, with just the sound of bird-song in the air. Susan, the owner, was extremely warm and welcoming, and the beautifully laid tray of goodies she left for us in the kitchen were top-notch. (Especially the bottle of wine!) The still-warm lemon drizzle cake which Susan delivered to us in the middle of the week was another delicious treat: It has become something of a tradition now for Susan to make one, I believe! And it was scrummy! The cottage is spotlessly clean, and the quality of the amenities are superb. The hot tub was immaculate: Susan cares for it each morning! The garden is a delight, even in Autumn, and we were happy to be allowed to help ourselves to the windfalls from the apple tree! The area is stunningly attractive, with so many places to visit - for both adults and children - that there is no time to be bored. This is absolutely the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in. We highly recommend Pen-y-maes. Check in and find out for yourselves!"
