Marlane's Holiday Villa, CORTON

"We stayed at the villa in Corton for 8 days waiting the completion of our property. The villa is clean and tidy and a great getaway due to the location. No complaints about value for money. However on the final day at 9.15am the owner of the property walked into the villa without knocking whilst we were on a business call. The villa was packed and ready just to walk out of, I just needed to finish the call at 9.30am prior to locking up. When I asked him to allow us some privacy until 9.30am (10am is the official check out time) he refused and sat on the sofa as he had an electrician arriving at 10am and wanted to make sure we left. His comments were that he owns the property so he is staying and it is cold outside. My 20 year old daughter who was assisting us with vacating felt intimidated and scared as he then stated he would sit in the bathroom whilst I finished the call. The ideal stay at the ideal property ended in a bad review. The owner could have walked into the property at any time during our stay without notice and his attitude was 'I can do what I like as I own it' and looking back concerns me greatly for my family. The property is ideal if you are a couple or single man however a family I would ask you to think twice or at the very least leave the key in the door!"

"when we arrived there was a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates which I thought was a very nice thought. we had a great time at this chalet, it was lovely and clean the bedding was fresh and clean. we enjoyed the facilitys especially the swimming pool, we ventured to yarmouth on the beach which the dog enjoyed immensely. There's a Chinese restaurant nearby and a couple of pubs which do meals. Graham changed the tv which was faulty and we didnt even know so how good was that. The kids enoyed it and so did the dog which was the main thing. we have emailed to book again and never heard any more but would love to go back"

"Initially on entering the property it was very clean & tidy. But that evening we got plates and cutlery out to have a takeaway and found dried food and grease on the plates and cutlery. The next morning when showering found the plughole was absolutely filled with gunk & hair so nearly overflowed the shower tray! Then when we went to cook breakfast we discovered the tin opener was full of rust, the wooden spoon was so dirty that I could scrape the black off with my finger nail. The grill pan had not been washed & the oven was dirty. The sandwich maker had also not been cleaned and a lot of the cooking utensils, in my opinion, were well passed their usable date! When we tried to use the washing machine, the soap dispenser was full of black mould. When using the vacuum cleaner, the awful stench was so bad we had to switch it off immediately and open all doors & windows and on asking about this, the owner said 'she doesn't use that one,she brings her own', then why would you leave it for your holiday makers to use? One of the chairs was pushed against the wall with a blanket over, in the lounge area. This chair was so far out of shape it was totally unsafe to use! Also, after contacting them with this information, the owners seen to be in complete denial about the cleanliness of their property. They also come into the property when we were out and did not tell us they were going to do so even though they had a phone number! I do have pictures but, unfortunately, cannot post on here!"
