Reviews
"This cottage is beautiful. The owners are next door and are there if required, If you ask them for their advice of local attractions then they are very helpful. The cottage has two lovely bedrooms, a large lounge/Kitchen/Diner. It was very quiet and we just had the hens to listen to during the evening whilst admiring the views across the hills from the patio!"
"This is the ideal place to relax and unwind. The holiday accomodation which ajoins the owners property provides 5 star standards. Internally all the features and facilities you need and externally views and features to match. The owners are very friendly and helpful. local facilties are very good. Access to coast and all other N. Yorkshire countryside attractions are easy and if you want to veer of the tourist routes there are many hidden beauty spots to explore but, don't totally rely on sat-nav to guide you, a good co-pilot with a map is recommended."
"This is an excellent cottage with all the amenities you could wish for. The only problem was total lack of mobile phone signal maybe a pay phone would be good. Otherwise excellent holiday accommodation with friendly owners and lovely animals on the farm."
"We stayed here in May and if I could I would go every month for a week. Everything that you could want for a restful and sightseeing holiday. Lots of walks or cycling all around. The owner Lesley is nice and a complimentary bottle of wine and cake meets you on arrival. The views are fabulous and we did not go our some days we just rested and took in the views... very dog friendly. All in all, if you want all of the above at a decent price for a 5 star accommodation then this is the place..."
"Lovely weekend! This is in a beautiful place and has everything you could possibly need. The owners are so welcoming and helpful Wine Cake and eggs much appreciated ! The surrounding area has much to do Thanks"
"Fantastic location we seemed to be 20 minutes drive to everywhere we wanted to visit. Everything you could possibly need in the cottage all of a very high standard. We took 2 dogs who loved it as much as the adults and although I was a little concerned about the chickens the dogs and chickens didn't bother each other . Lesley was extremely helpful even providing a bottle of wine and a gorgeous homemade cake, which came in very handy. Lesley clearly takes great pride in making your stay very pleasant and was most welcoming, nothing was too much trouble . Will definitely be revisiting."
"spent a week in this beautiful converted cottage. whilst retaining its charm of beams etc it has bathroom & en suite both of which are modern & very tastefully decorated. the owner was extremely helpful & friendly. it was lovely waking in a comfortable bed to look out of the window to lovely views. the owner has thought about everything to ensure it is equipped with anything you are likely to need. we had very cold windy weather a few days but there was a lovely log effect burner & there were video,s games reading material to keep you occupied with the bottle of wine she had left for us. the cottage was immaculate & it was enjoyable looking out at the paddock watching the horses playing& galloping around. the owner even spent time taking our daughter into the stables to meet the horses. the lovely resort of whitby was only 18 miles away ."
"An amazing property - rated a 4 star but should be 5. We are returning next year for another stay in this immaculate, beautifully presented property. Highly recommended!"
"This cottage is absolutely beautiful, everything there that you could possibly want. My husband has MS and poor mobility, and it was ideal for him, no steps even into the shower, and good firm beds. We have to search hard for suitable accommodation, and this fitted the bill exactly. The price was good too ! Additionally the views from the decking are glorious, and the chickens entertaining. Lesley, the owner, was anxious to help, and we felt very at home. Very highly recommended"
"We stopped at HARE SLACK FARM in Jan 2015 with a 10 month old and 2 well behaved dogs. From the moment we entered the property, we were amazed. We have stopped in many, many self catering properties in the UK, but this was outstanding. Very clean, very spacious, very very well equipped. Fresh bread, milk, eggs (from their chickens), cereal, jam, tea, coffee....we didn't really need to bring any food :) Very, very child friendly. Even the fire was child friendly. The views were outstanding out of every window. Chickens greet you on your doorstep every morning. 10 Mins car journey to Whitby, 2 lovely pubs in local vicinity, good walking straight from your doorstep. Already planning a return trip! Thank you very much for our lovely stay."
