Llansteffan is a lovely seaside village with its own castle ruins, a post office, general store and two pubs specialising in serving local food. This tranquil setting is only a short journey from the county town of Camarthen, which offers visitors a wide range of facilities including numerous shops and boutiques, restaurants, pubs and a thriving daily market. This spectacular part of Wales has always drawn the crowds but there are enough isolated sandy coves and beaches to give everyone the chance to find some peace and quiet. If you're more of an adrenaline junky, the noise and excitement of Pembrey motor racing track is only a short drive away whilst culture-vultures can visit Dylan Thomas' Boat House at Laugharne or the plentiful castles, mills and craft centres in the region. Llansteffan offers a perfect base for a wide range of holidays and is a marvellous introduction to this glorious part of Wales.

"Stayed for a week couple with 2 dogs it's ideal for walks nearby lovely places to visit the view from the large garden is breathtaking any time of day. Well equipped and modern but remains a cosy well designed cottage lists of information provided and a lovely log burner."
"Lovely, clean well equipped cottage. Two fantastic gardens that are totally secure...the dogs loved them. The view from the rear garden over the estuary to Laugharne is to die for!! There is a pleasant walk to the 'Farmers Arms'in the village which has a dog friendly bar. It's a few minutes drive to LLansteffan and the lovely beach, pubs and cafes."
"A unique place great views.Cottages got all the comforts of home.sian and matt so friendly.Great for dogs."
"This place is a little piece of heaven. Out in the sticks but only a few mikes from lovely village with spectacular beaches. The info on the internet is 100% accurate but somehow doesn't do it justice until you're there, so perfect. We have just spent a week there with our two dogs (they didn't want to come home either!) Matt and Sian have truly thought of everything to make sure you feel home from home and it's impossible not to switch off and chill. They are the most genuine hosts who are there if you need them. We loved the views, the huge garden, the fabulous log burner which sadly had to light in August, the ability to walk to top of the drive for fresh eggs every morning but most of all the cosy feel of the Den. Can't wait to return."
"One of the best cottages we've stayed in. Really cosy and the log burner was a joy to come back to after a long walk each day. Walks right from the cottage, we did the Pilgrim Trail and the Heritage Trail which took us along the coastal path and into woods. Really muddy but it was brilliant. Even had a paddle in the sea on Llansteffan beach (in our wellies!!) Will definitely be visiting this area again and staying at The Den as we spent a week here and didn't get to visit half the places we wanted. Fully recommend this cottage"
"This cottage is awesome... amazing hosts, Sian & Matt are so helpful & friendly. Amazing views over the Estuary. Excellent for walking & exploring... Laugharne is a must as well as Pendine Beach - 7 miles of fantastic beach. Absolutely dog friendly. Barry the big pig is great. Very romantic with the log burner. Can't rate this lovely cottage enough.. will defo be back. Sian has thought of everything you could possibly need. Such a high standard of accommodation. I would rate this 10/10 Excellent all round."
"The Den is a cosy cottage attached to the owners small holding. We had a most enjoyable peaceful week recharging batteries in this lovely cottages which is excellently appointed a real home from home with everything you need. The dog was in heaven with the spacious grassed garden and the bonus of other dogs to run with. The owners are a lovely and very hospitable couple who make guests most welcome. Beautiful views across to Laugharne and Dylan Thomas' Boathouse. The weather was kind to us which was a bonus. Llanybri is a small village with a good pub,The Farmers Arms, which serves interesting combination of Thai and British food both of which are good. Llansteffan has great beach and Billage Dhop which also serves great breakfast! We will most definitely return. Thank you to owners again hope to see you next year."
"The perfect cottage for two people and a dog, Secluded garden with views over the estuary, farm animals galore. Our host welcomed us with cake and fresh farm eggs, It was spotlessly clean with very comfy beds. We had one chilly night so lit the cosy wood stove a curled up to watch the telly. Easy access to Lansteffan and Camarthen - lots to see and do in this area, especially castles and beaches !! I cannot recommend this place highly enough and hope one day to return."
"We choose this cottage because we love the area and stopped in a Sykes property at Ferryside last year and were pleased with it. The Den was even better, fantastic views across the estuary to Laugharne, lovely clean cottage, smashing friendly couple who own it and half a secure field for our dog to run round in. Also secure front garden for her while we unloaded the car. The cottage itself is small but ideal for two, fully equipped and a welcoming slice of cake when we got there. An unexpected second toilet and small wash basin in the bedroom, very comfy bed and hidden wardrobe and television complete the bedroom. Kitchen diner, lounge fully equipped, all new equipment. Heating came on when temperature dropped which was welcome at night. Fresh eggs available from the hens and ducks on the small holding. There is also a campsite next door if anyone is interested in that. Owners were lovely and presented us with some eggs when we left."
"Y Den is a fantastic little cottage with all the amenities you need to make your holiday special. Matt & Sian the owners along with their two beautiful dogs were so friendly & welcoming to us and our dog Ruby. The log burner in the cottage was a lovely way to end the day. It was great to walk around their small holding seeing the pigs, chickens, ducks and geese. The Farmers Arms in Llanybri was a great place to eat, the Sunday Carvery is a must and they welcome dogs. I would highly recommend this cottage to stay in and Sian is a very good baker. There is plenty to do in South Wales with all the walks and seaside resorts."
"We had a fantastic stay at this wonderful little cottage in llanybri. The Den is fitted to a superb standard, the wood burner made it wonderfully cosy & the location is beautiful. The owners were so friendly & welcoming and the chickens, ducks, pigs & friendly dogs on the small farm were a delight. The views across the estuary were outstanding and the Farmhouse Arms in the village served gorgeous authentic Thai food! We didn't want to leave & can't wait return there soon! Don't forget to buy some of their eggs before you leave, they are amazing!"
