"We stayed here the last week of October. Met by Jer, a lovely host, we were amazed at the attention to detail in providing a warm welcome. We were provided with the ingredients for a full English breakfast from the local bakery and butcher. We also had a lovely chocolate sponge cake and even treats for the doggies. The property has everything you need to just move in, from cooking equipment, washing machine and dryer to the hot tub and fantastic views of the fields and the reservoir from every room. Amazing dog walks, great space for the 6 of us and 3 doggies to spend time together and also have space for time to ourselves. Great location for visiting the treats that Somerset has to offer, even in the rain. Thank you Jer & Mer for a lovely stay. Xx"
"We have just got home from a fantastic stay at 'JER & MER'S PLACE'. On arrival we were greeted by Jer who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. A welcome basket was supplied with bacon, eggs, bread, honey, jam and a wonderful chocolate cake which was unexpected - a real treat! The kitchen had tea, coffee and sugar supplied. The property easily facilitated 6 adults,1 toddler and 1 baby - with room to spare. The bedrooms were light and comfortable with great storage. There are two outdoor areas which are secure to allow your dog(s) to explore without worrying. The hot tub was great, especially given the recent weather! The views of Durleigh Resevoir were wonderful. We will definitely visit again!"
"We arrived Friday and was warmly greeted by Jer, showed us around the house and facilities...a lovely stocked welcome hamper of goodies for breakfast...the house is homely and comfortable...with plenty of items you wouldn't normally find in a rental as in slow cooker, food processor and steamer..the stay was lovely and my only criticism would be for 10 the dining area was quite cosy, that being said most ppl when on holiday dine out, so for most parties I can imagine this would be suffice...all in all lovely house with spectacular views, and we will certainly be back "
"We arrived on Friday afternoon and was met by the lovely Jer and he showed us around the property, there was a lovely welcome pack of breads, cheese, eggs, sausages, bacon etc all locally sourced, that was a great touch. The hut tub was great and our entire party had great fun in there. The garden is big and we managed to play bollyball and badminton, there was plenty of games in the boiler room for the kids also. Nice big TV and log burner and 2 comfortable sofa beds in the lounge. Kitchen has everything and more, steamers, slow cookers, blenders etc. dishwasher, washing machine and drier easy to use. 1st floor bedrooms. the ensuite room is spacious but the 2nd double room is small, its a small double bed that only just fits, but if only using it to sleep its fine. 2nd floor bedrooms, these get HOT, the velux windows only open about 2 inches and as its in the loft it gets very hot and stuffy up there, Jer left a small fan/condensor that did cool one of the rooms, its a shame the windows dont open further as its a lovely view across the meadows and resivoir. there were no negatives really and we are planning to book again at this or the adjacent property next year."
"We were met at the property by a very friendly jet, who showed us where everything was and how everything worked, he had also supplied a very generous hamper of goodies, including 2 fresh loaves of bread, milk, butter, cheese, cho plate cake, bacon and sausages and eggs, very thoughtful and appreciated. The property is in a great spot overlooking the reservoir and the garden is spacious. We had trouble with the wifi which wouldn't work, so as we had teenagers with us who nearly went into meltdown over this issue, we contacted her whi got someone out to fix it and very generously repaid the money we had spent on buying a bundle for said mutinous teenagers!! We were a family of Aunt, niece 3 great nieces, and then were joined by my daughter her partner, my 10th month old grandaughter, my future son in laws mother and another niece, so at one time their were 9 of us plus the baby and we all fitted perfectly ok although those on the sofa beds did say they weren't that comfortable but it wasn't a huge issue, plenty of crockery and kitchen stuff etc, we were glad of the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer. The only negatives I could say is that maybe the curtains downstairs could be replaced or at least have more hooks as most of them are hanging off which made it look a bit untidy and that hopefully the canopy over the hot tub which was fantastic and used often, will be put back on as it did make the garden patio area look a bit scruffy along with a very wobbly wooden table and rusting chairs, other than that no criticism at all, we loved our week here."
"My husband and I have both recently retired and it is a "big" birthday coming up for me. So we decided to stay here and here for the weekend with seven family members which included Dolly the mutt. The welcome pack was indeed that most welcome and fully utilised. We met Jer at the property he showed us around and highlighted how things work and the instructions for utilities. We made good use of the hot tub and the log fire. Would thoroughly recommend this place as allowed us to have a good old family get together and a well deserved chill out"
"I will start with the positives - Beautiful location especially if you enjoy water fowl. Was left local produce to eat which was very nice. Lots of bacon and sausages, although member our group were veggies, we got more to eat. It states it sleeps 10 but in reality, it comfortably sleeps 3. 2 in the double bed in the master which was very comfy, if a little shabby with scuffed walls. The other bedroom had a small double which would sleep two very skinny people comfortably but was a bit too small for sharing normal sized people. My other adult friends had camp beds in the loft and they were not comfortable. Luckily our friend which booked it bought her own inflatable bed, so she was able to get good sleep, the other 2 didn't. It was adequate for us but appeared felt as if the family had just walked out and we were taking it over for the weekend."
"Absolutely fantastic stay. 9 of us and the dog visited for a week and were very happy with our stay. Jer was very warm and welcoming and we arrived to some lovely little goodies. The place was well equipped and cosy. The hot tub and sauna really made our stay, particularly at night when it's quiet! Beautiful views on the decking and from the bedrooms. A big thank you to Jer & Mer for a wonderful week."
"The house was lovely, very clean and well equipped. The hot tub was great and we thoroughly enjoyed it and purple bathrobes were supplied for each person. The log fire was easy to light and so cosy. We all had a go in the sauna which was fun. Jeremy was a great host and showed us how to use everything. A lovely hamper was supplied on the first day with all the essentials for a first breakfast. We stayed for my Dad's 80th birthday and he loved it. The views over the reservoir was superb and we could find no faults with the lovely weekend we had. Thanks very much!"
"Arrived Friday 15th April, cottage very easy to find and Jer was kindly waiting for us. A hearty welcome and a very generous welcome hamper which was gratefully received after a 5 hour journey with two dogs. In fact, as we took two dogs, Jer had even included a box of gravy bones in the hamper - a lovely touch. Views across the resevoir were stunning, hot tub was fabulous and the gardens were all completely enclosed so we didn't have to worry about the dogs at all. We were in fact the only people in the lane which was lovely too. We had plenty of room (party of 5 plus dogs). Kitchen had everything required and more (even plastic glasses for use in the hot tub or picnics). I would recommend this place and will definitely be booking again soon. I did read a recent review and took a couple of carving knives and chopping boards but that is nothing. I asked Jer if there was a slow cooker (which there was) but he had replaced it with a brand new one for our visit. If only all owners could be like that. Thank you again to Jer and Mer (although didn't meet Mer), see you again soon."
"This place was fantastic. Jer and Mer gave us a warm welcome upon arrival and showed us around the place. There was a fantastic welcome basket with lots of fresh local produce. The house is a good size for a group; we had some lovely meals around the kitchen table and some lovely evenings around the log burner. The house was easy to find and the location is pretty good too (not far from the big supermarkets in the car and there are a few pubs a short walk away). The kitchen has lots of pots and pans although we could only find one tiny chopping board and not many kitchen knives (this made large meal preparation quite difficult). There were lots of board games and a selection of dvd's and books to keep us occupied as well as a docking station to play music through. Overall my friends and I had a great time at this house. With the weather being terrible the log burner in the front room was utilised pretty much non-stop! I can imagine this place would be fantastic in the summer when you can make proper use of the hot tub. Thanks very much Jer and Mer."
"My extended family consisted of eight. We have just enjoyed a wonderful week at Jer and Mer's place a lovely detached property the owner's went the extra mile and some, the welcome pack was unbelievable more than ever expected. It had everything hot tub, large garden and outdoor games, and the owners were so lovely and helpful. We really didn't want to leave will definitely be returning."
"A really enjoyable holiday, the personal touches in Jer&Mer's place were fantastic made settling in very easy. Provided a very good base to explore somerset and for the relaxing days the hot tub was fab even on the rainy days! Plenty of space for my 22month old and 7 year old to play which could also easily accommodate, larger groups of family and friends of all ages."
