"Oakleigh House is a great place to stay, it is well situated for travel to areas such as York, Thirsk, Pickering etc. Eden Camp Theme Museum is a must, it brings history to life. However, what made our holiday was the owner's absolute attention to detail. The cottage is beautifully appointed, and the information pack is a delight to behold. All frequent users of self-catering holiday lets will be familiar with the "how do you work the washing machine" game. Not necessary at Oakleigh House, as you have an information pack that covers everything you might need, along with drawers full of information about the local area. And to arrive to milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and a packet of biccies to boot, along with a bottle of wine! The owners clearly know what is needed in a holiday let, and provide it in spades! We could not fault it at all, and have already booked to come back next year so we can carry on and explore the areas we missed this year!"

"The cottage overall was very good and we would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants a quality accommodation. We had a problem with a leak from the upstairs bathroom that looks like has been a problem for some time, but was fixed very quickly by the manager. The advertisement are a little misleading particularly the only local pub within walking distance that has very poor opening hours and looks and is completely neglected. And the lack of any shops locally with a 3 mile drive to obtain the basics."

"Located in a quiet little village. Well decorated and fully furnished, spacious and homely. Not far from the charming little town of Helmsley where you can get your grocery from a mini-supermarket, butcher or eat in restaurants. There is a quality farm shop nearby. It will be nice if there is a garden and internet access. A bit inconvenience for no mobile phone signal reception."

"Our third visit to Oakleigh House. It did not dissapoint, We have been to many places, where, on the second visit they had deteriorated in decor, cleanliness etc. Not this one! The house was immaculate as always, looks newly decorated & absolutely spotless. It has all of the amenities you could wish for to make your holiday relaxing & comfortable. We are looking forward to going back next year"
